봉평메밀막국수 — Restaurant in Seoul

I ordered the spicy buckwheat noodles in cold broth (₩9,000). The dish contained a very generous serving of buckwheat noodles. It hit the right notes in terms of flavor and texture. The buckwheat noodles were al dante and the spicy sauce complimented the cold broth really well. I would definitely recommend this on a hot summer day.

One thing that subtly irritated me was that there was public parking available a short distance from the store, but when I called to inquire about the availability of parking, the staff member said falsely that there was no parking around the store. Given that this store has been around for decades, I find it hard to imagine that the staff are oblivious to the availability of parking lots around the store. Hence, this incident struck Mr as an example of blatant indolence on the part of the staff.

Another thing that I was concerned with was that one waitress had a bad bout of cold sores near her lips. Whilst I empathize with her, I am nevertheless of the opinion that she should put on a face mask. Anytime during service, she might touch some part of her face, including the area with cold sore unwittingly but not be cognizant enough to go and wash her hands thoroughly. If that had happened and she still continued to go about serving food, the risk of spreading the virus to the next person would be very high. This would be an extremely irresponsible act that would severely compromise the health of customers. Whereas, wearing a mask would have reduced the risk of the waitress touching the infected area and would have been safer and more pleasant to the customers dining in the restaurant.
