Restaurant owner is kind and friendly. He took good care of customers. I found him looked at the kids with smiley eyes, and even arranged shoes for them. Price was cheaper than restaurants in Myeongdong. It's a place that the local would come, I was the only foreigner at that time. The ganjang gejang were not really to my taste (we don't eat raw crab in our country). It didn't smell fishy as I had imagine, but kinda bland in my mouth, with a smushy texture that I had goose bumps as swallowing in :))))). I tried my best but could only finish half of a big crab pį»tion (sorry susangnim T_T ). You should consider having a small one, or big portion for two. Panchan were yummy. Soybean paste soup Doenjang jigae was a bit salty for me. Nori leaves went really well with rice. Would recommend for those want to try authentic Korean food. Btw, my stomach is OK with the crab and I didn't have any health prolems. Plus they are famous in the local. So I think it's hygiene,...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe restaurant only has a Korean name. Its about 5 mins walking distance from underground subway Ahyeon station (242). We arrived around noon and were already number 4 in queue. Each person has to order one crab set (krw15,000), which comes with tofu soup, a bowl of purple rice and several appetizer dishes and one whole soy sauce crab. Since the raw crab was marinated in special soy sauce for at least a few days to a week, the crab meat was jelly like and we could easily suck it out from the legs. The meat was flavorful and savory and went pretty well with the rice. Crab lovers will surely like the taste of the orange cream fat. The restaurant owner was very friendly. There is no need for foreigners to panic, the owner will give you a menu with pictures and languages that you can read. For seafood lovers who pursue flavor, this is the style of crab that you should not miss. Once you have tried it, you will have the urge to go back for it...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis place is quite nice. The owner is quite fluent in English. I especially liked the soy marinated crab. I found it quite fresh and sweet. But my sis says thereās a bit of fishy taste, so people who are sensitive to that may not like it as much. The spicy marinate is not as nice. It covers the taste of the crab I think, and the marinate is not as fragrant. It was nice that they had cooked meat/squid options for people in the group that did not like raw crab. We ordered spicy pork and squid, but those were pretty average, definitely not as good as the crab. My only complaint I guess is that the crab portion size is a bit smallā¦I think it was just 1 small crab for a single serving for 23,000 wonā¦considering there are crab buffets for around...
