A crime against pizzas. I was looking forward to coming here after hiking around Namsan tower however I was sorely disappointed. From the beginning things did not go well. We were seated downstairs at the bar, and my girlfriend's request to the waiter to sit at a recently evacuated table was denied without explanation. We did not want to sit under the full blast of the AC on a stool. I then demanded to sit at one of the tables and the overworked waiter relented. She was doing her best but not being given the support she needed. We then went to order our food from the electronic kiosk, but unfortunately the pizza I wanted to order a Conquistador was not available nor was pan base for which this New Zealand pizza restaurant is famous. Perhaps that strange combination of kiwi and Italian should have been warning enough. Sadly there was nothing Italian about the pizza, and the menu itself suggested that the guest should have the option to choose the toppings on there's. The problem is whatever toppings one chose on the pizza wouldn't have mattered. The quality of the ingredients was poor from the base up. Flat lifeless dough which had not come close to oil or salt supported flavorless cheese and tomato paste. The crust was so bad it reminded me of the crust of sliced white bread that you would cut off as a child to avoid eating. We had a half half - pepperoni and The Deviant - which had the audacity to include raw tomatoes among the other toppings of mushroom, beef and onion and predictably these poor tomatoes lacked any flavor, since most of the water had not been removed during a brief stint in an oven which left the dough also, doughy. We ordered a 1,000 side of garlic sauce to eek out a little flavor into the meal and rescue the crust which not only arrived late but came in two packets - a box of the garlic sauce I surmised, was stolen from a kebab shop. The only way to enchance the flavor was to liberally apply the table dressings of chili flakes (incorrectly labeled as parmesan), the actual parmesan and finally tobasco (again far inferior to chili oil). The reason I had been tempted to go in was because I had seen reddish grease stains and had thought there might be chili oil on the tables but none was to be found and nor do I think olive oil had ever entered the building. The sad thing about these pizzas is that they were neither flamboyant and over the top and full of dopaminergic cheap flavor and nor were they crafted with decent ingredients. The pizzas were flat and eating them was a chore. I highly recommend avoiding this place unless you are here to watch sports on the telly and need some not overly expensive fuel with which to manage your beer...
Read moreI ordered two draft beer, I felt so less carbonated in my beer and also my friend’s one too. so I asked to staff to check it out that there might be some problem with the draft machine. Then the staff never apologized about it and said that nobody complains about it and asked why only I have a problem. I was trying to be polite but he was so rude and lack manners. I was so annoyed by the staff's attitude I wanted to talk with the manager but he said that manager is on vacation so there is nothing he can do. I asked him to call the manager and figure out what they can do then he said he can’t disturb the manager and he kept saying that there is no problem with beer and if I want to talk to the manager, call the manager by myself and gave me manager’s number. I couldn’t believe that this situation is happening. Eventually, I called the manager directly to explain the whole situation. The whole staff tried to avoid the situation and ignored me. The manager also admitted that staff is young and lack manners and refunded it. I loved the pizza and atmosphere of the restaurant... I am so disappointed and wouldn't...
Read moreNo Hawaiian pizza? You will change!
I went to this place about three years ago. It was located in the main road of Haebangchon in Itaewon. I took the bus from the Exit number 2 of Noksapyeong station. I read the reviews of this place , and most of them were about the recommendation of half and half -Hawaiian and Pepperoni. Before I visited here, I was not a big fan of Hawaiian pizza. So I hesitated a little bit before I decided to order it. After I tasted the half and half pizza, my preference totally changed! The pineapple slices were juicy and sweet. Also, the pepperoni was crispy and crusty with perfectly-baked dough. Also, servers used English, which made for exotic vibes. The restaurant was not super big, but it was upbeat and trendy. Every time I visit this place, I have to wait in line because of its popularity. Therefore, I became soooooooo hungry! That is the only reason I took away one star. Maybe it needs another branch...
