I was visiting Korea in November 2024 and stayed the ALOFT hotel in Chumgdam district. When I had a local food craving, I spotted Sinuiju Chapssal Sundae across the street from where I am and I thought it was a perfect choice. On November 9th, I decided to dine in and ordered 2 regular Sinuiju Chapssal Sundae국밥 and requested more Chapssal Sundae in place of the various meats with given option.
Sinuiju Chapssal Sundae국밥 was served but it was well below my expectation. I had more Sinuiju Chapssal Sundae than normal order but I do not have any supporting confidence. Because the soup bowl had so much of the pork rinds / pig's ladder along with Sinuiju Chapssal Sundae. I had to fish out Sinuiju Chapssal Sundae amongst combination and barely finished halfway.
I did paid 40,000 won for 2 orders but It was not worth to try. This is my the very first and also the last experience with Sinuiju Chapssal Sundae restaurant.
Never again.

In general, Tang, 탕 (Guk, 국) is Soup and Zige, 찌개 is Stew. Sundae is Korean sausage. Chapssal is glutinous rice
So, Chapssal Sundae Guk is Koren Sausage Soup made of glutinous rice (순대국) The effectiveness of this food is to prevent anemia, keep eye health, and relieve hangovers.
