Stand Up Plz — Restaurant in Seoul

Over the past two years espresso bars have exploded in popularity onto the Korean coffee scene.

While Leesar Coffee, established in February 2012, can certainly claim to be the original Napoli style espresso bar in Seoul, many others have followed in their footstep to take advantage of the growing appreciation for espresso-based traditional coffee drinks. Con Panna, Caffe Pienos and Doppios are now sold at dozens of cafes in the city and further afield including Deep Coffee Roasters (Daegu), Bamaself (Seoul), Ouya Espresso (Seoul) and Stand Up Plz (Seoul).

Opening in early 2021, Stand Up Plz is a new venture in Seongsu-dong run by the team from bakery cafe Turnon (@cafe_turnon). Despite the area being one of the most cafe-dense suburbs of Seoul, Stand Up Plz has established a gap in the market for a European style standing espresso bar and is proving popular amongst nearby office workers.

Just 100m down the road from Low Key, hidden between a light shop and local convenience store, passers-by might easily miss this tiny cafe. The interior is made up of one floor length glossy table furnished with elaborate Art Deco glassware, antique books and flower displays that camouflage the classic La Marzocco machine set-up in the corner. Strictly an “on-the-go” stand-up and drink coffee concept this cafe is a bold and successful attempt at bringing the art of drinking Italian coffee to one of the newest coffee drinking...

Espresso. No more less it is a espresso bar. There are a table in the middle and both doors are reachable, means there are almost no front nor back side of "bar"(table). Unique system. But it follows trend, which means they serve sour flavored espresso.
