Our visit to Yukjeon Sikdang was a complete disgrace. From the moment we walked in, one waiter gave us hostile looks as if we didn’t belong there. We tried to communicate politely using Google Translate, but he treated us with arrogance, ignored us, and made it very clear we were not welcome.
When another waiter kindly started to help us, the same rude waiter stormed over, stopped him, raised his voice at us, and forced us to wait outside like we were a nuisance. Moments later, he came back with his phone to translate that the restaurant was “too busy” and told us to come back another time. This was at 8:54pm — almost two hours before closing. Clearly, this was not about being busy, it was about pushing us out.
The behavior was offensive, humiliating, and absolutely unacceptable. Instead of hospitality, we were met with hostility and disrespect. No customer deserves to be treated this way. This place left us angry, deeply disappointed, and with the strong impression that outsiders are not...

When we asked about seating for four and card payment, one waiter responded loudly with “I don’t understand” and asked us to leave, despite our attempts to communicate with translation. Another staff member kindly tried to assist us, but the same waiter dismissed us again. Eventually, he told us via translation that the restaurant was full, yet we later saw other customers being placed on the waiting list.
As first-time visitors to Korea, this was quite disheartening. While we understand language barriers can be challenging, the manner in which we were addressed felt unnecessarily rude and...
Read moreThe 4th branch of 육전식당(Yukjeon Restaurant) located in Gangnam district. Being one of the most popular pork bbq franchises in Seoul, it always has a lot of people waiting in line. Food here including the meat itself is certainly in a good quality. However, they are either bit too salty or sweet. Especially the pork it serves which is very tender and juicy is too salty. The strong flavour first hits your tongue with great umami but soon ruins the true flavour of the meat itself. Here you need to pay extra for alpine leek which became quite common recently at bbq restaurants. But the quality of the herb is...
