속초신토불이감자옹심이 — Restaurant in Sokcho-si

Came by on Sunday afternoon for lunch. There was a waiting list but via kakao whereby you registered your number and wait for number to be called. I did not have kakao app therefore I approached the staff (was quite intimidated by the crowd actually but I really wanted to try the food) and thankfully he told me a queue number and was told the waiting time about 15 minutes. Oh my days, he could speak English. 👍 Right after being seated, he took orders and my food came swiftly after that. The menu was on the table and I just googled translated them. I had the gamja-ongsimi (quite similar to potato gnocchi but much bigger size, very tangy and chewy, my type of food) and squid-pollack sundae (this delicacy came with marinated squid, omg). 웨이팅 기본 1시간이라고 네이버후기를 보고 웨이팅 걸어놓으려고 빨리 갔다 토요일 점심 12시 좀 넘어서 기준 (오픈 11시30분) 대기 시간 75분 앞에 20팀이 있었고 1시 30분 정도에 식사할 수 있었다.

테이블이 굉장히 적고 협소하고 테이블 3개 정도는 가게 밖의 복도로 나와있다. 실내이긴 해서 춥지는 않지만 지나다니는 사람들의 관심을 한몸에 받을 수 있다.

3명으로 4인 테이블이 필요했는데 2인 테이블이 먼저 자리가 나서 우리(3인)한테 먼저 주문을 받고 2인 분들을 안내하는 게 상당히 서비스가 좋다고 느껴졌다. 테이블도 깨끗하게 닦아주신다.

물과 수저는 셀프였다. 가족끼리 오는 분도 있긴 한데 테이블과 테이블 사이 간격도 좁고 분위기는 그다지 좋지 않아서 추천하지 않는다. (가게 안쪽은 하얗고 심플한 디자인이라서 좀 괜찮을 지도) 하지만 맛은 굉장히 훌륭해서 맛을 위해서 기다리는 건 이해한다. 기다리지 않으려면 11시 정도에 가는 걸 추천한다.

감자전은 아주 고소하고 쫀쫀하고 부드러웠다. 지금까지 먹은 감자전 중에서 1등이다. 너무 맛있다

들깨옹심이, 전통옹심이 모두 국물맛이 진하고 시원한 맛이 난다. 계속 계속 먹을 수 있는 맛이었다. 들깨가 들어가면 텁텁한 맛을 상상할 수 있는데 여기는 들깨의 고소함을 잘 담아내고 국물의 시원한 맛을 느낄 수 있어서 감탄했다. 다시 가서 먹고 싶은 맛이다. 옹심이도 쫀득하고 신선하다는 생각이 들었다. 슬라이드 된 감자 역시 부드럽고 옹심이 먹는 중간중간 재미를 줘서 좋았다.

결론적으로 다시 75분 대기 시간이 있다고 해도 먹을 의향이 있으며, 속초에 갔다면 꼭 여기 감자옹심이를...
