Cervecería Estrella de Galicia — Restaurant in A Coruña

I must admit I only went here because it’s the ‘official’ restaurant of the brewery. If it had been anything else, I wouldn’t have gone. I’m glad I went because it was great! I went originally around 14:00 and there was a long line so I came back around 15:30 and didn’t wait. I ordered the burger and the ensalada completa. I ordered the salad because I was suspicious of the burger not being enough despite the server telling me it was because the burger 4€, yes only 4 and it comes with a full serving of fries. SHOCKED. The food was super good. The beef is from Galicia (yay local!) of course they had gluten free beer but not on tap. Maybe they could look into that if the demand is there. Although I expected the beer to be slightly cheaper, the prices are obviously reasonable. Will be my first stop next...

Food poisoning.

Disappointing experience at Estrella Galicia's brewery restaurant in A Coruña. We ordered appetizers, but many were unavailable, so we settled for ham, burgers, and fries. The burgers arrived medium rare and had a rubbery texture. My girlfriend couldn't finish hers, and I forced myself to eat mine with lots of ketchup, but it still tasted bad. We complained to the server, who seemed unbothered and actually removed one burger from our bill, which suggests he knew they weren't up to par. Hours later, I suffered from food poisoning, vomiting, and stomach pain. If you want good beer, this might be the place, but avoid the food and opt for authentic Gallego restaurants...

Before I even walk out the door I wanted to leave this. I’m shocked at how low the standards are for the flagship location of such a major brand and one of the prides of Galicia. The tortilla de patatas was almost as disappointing as the quality of the service from the Bartenders. They don’t smile and they didn’t even say thank you when I paid. Does Estrella have some management issues or maybe doesn’t understand marketing or maybe just don’t care. Whoever does their hiring and kitchen oversight needs to learn a new lesson. With a brand like Estrella it should be an excellent tortilla - this one was like what I can find at a gas station off the A-9 , except those might...
