The Breen's Tavern — Restaurant in A Coruña

We had the pleasure of having lunch at this bar today my wife and I. We ordered a Spanish omelette, and it was so good I couldn’t resist getting another one.

What really stood out, though, was the service we received from the woman behind the bar. Despite the overall chaos in the place—whether it was the weather, the crowd, or something else, there were arguments and shouting among some of the staff—she remained calm, focused, and incredibly professional. We truly felt taken care of.

My wife even asked her name—it was Faby—and I’m mentioning it here because great work deserves recognition. She made the whole experience feel personal and pleasant, even in a hectic environment.

If we ever come back to Spain, we’ll definitely return to this bar to try more...

After touring for the whole day, we were hoping to find a quick snack before dinnertime. Luckily, we were able to grab something at Breen's Tavern before they closed for siesta. They closed around 4pm but not entirely sure when they open back up for the night. If you're an English-speaking tourist, be cognizant that the staff does not speak English. However, they were friendly and still tried to accommodate despite the language barrier. They serve plain bread with your order. We ordered the calamari. It was more on the bland side than what I was expecting, but the lemon juice helped a lot. The prices are reasonable. If you eat outside, you have a nice view of the Maria...

Si quieres comida muy buena con una atención muy mala, este es tu sitio. Explicó:

El lugar: es como cualquier otro bar de tapas de la ciudad. No tiene nada realmente especial salvo por la terraza cerrada en donde al menos te salva de la lluvia o brisa.

Atención: aquí es donde vamos a mal. De las 4 camareras que habían, solo 1 al menos mostraba intereses por su trabajo. Entiendo que al ir en a la hora de almuerzo el lugar se llena y las órdenes se tardan, pero ese no es el problema, el problema está en que de 3 cosas que pedimos, 2 nos las trajeron mal y cuando nos trajeron un plato de comida nos dieron 2 cuchillos.

Lo segundo fue que cuando le pedí a una de las chicas por un tenedor para poder comer, no me dejó terminar la frase y me dijo “ahora no que estoy ocupada”. ¿Perdón?

Tercero: cuando fui a pagar no sabían que había pedido. Como persona decente que soy les dije exactamente lo que me llevaron para que me cobraran, pero cualquiera molesto se inventa que pidió menos para pagar menos e irse.

Comida: si el punto anterior no te importa, si puedo decir que la comida es excelente. Las croquetas son MUY ricas.

Ambiente: como cualquier otro bar de España. Afuera estaba “bien” pero adentro un desastre. Copas, vasos y platos por toda la barra como si nadie recogiera nada.

Baño: sino está lleno de gente usualmente está limpio.

TLDR; sino te importa esperar y que te atiendan mal porque lo tuyo es comer, es un lugar...
