Restaurante Alborada — Restaurant in A Guarda

We went to this restaurant at 2:40 pm on 15th of August that is a holiday and without a reservation, so we were lucky to find a table. We sat inside that is quite an ordinary set up with tow rows of dining table. The food is amazing: all seafood smelled incredibly fresh and cooked in the simplest way possible, but somehow tastes delicious! The only note I want to add is the rice with lobster: although it was impeccable, it costs quite some money; plus you have to order 2 portions minimum. All the other rice options were not available. Just a suggestion: the poor waitresses showed some signs of stress (and probably they had been working very hard the whole day) but a restaurant's owner needs to remember that the staff's face is what customers see first when they arrive at the restaurant. I had been to this restaurant many times in the past but today because my two friends and myself only wanted to have dessert and coffee we were refused service and to and injury to insult the owner stated that I had never been in this restaurant. Just goes to show me that I should never leave a tip, because it's not normally done here in Spain. Very sad that the owner did not recognise me, after so many times in her restaurant and that she made me look foolish to my friends that I told how wonderful this place was. Never...

Fuimos a comer la familia y la verdad que salimos súper desencantados. Habíamos leído opiniones positivas y por eso nos decantamos por este restaurante. Todas las raciones tenían un precio elevado, pero que si la comida cumple las expectativas de paga con gusto. Pedimos un arroz con bogavante que dejaba mucho que desear, no tenía sabor y el arroz estaba mal cocinado, de lo dijimos a uno de los camareros que el arroz no estaba rico que no sabía a bogavante y nos dijo “eso es imposible”…. Nos quedamos de piedra. Y pedimos varias raciones de lubina que estaba sin más… la verdad que esperábamos mucho más de este sitio. Mal producto y además cuando se dice en vez de intentar mejorarlo dan por hecho que nos lo estamos inventado. Otro detalle que nos pareció bastante feo, pedimos una botella de vino y cuando sirvieron en una de las copas había una mosca (cosas que pasan) pero cuando retiró la copa, que estaba llena de vino, lo normal entiendo es que te traiga de una botella abierta para compensar esa copa, pues de ellos no salió hacerlo....
