I ate here with my fiancé, mother in law, and uncle— all from Alicante (just to clarify that this was our experience eating here with local people, not foreign speaking tourists). The experience was quite bad for two reasons: 1) The daily menu is deceptive and 2) The waiter was unpleasant, unprofessional, and did not do anything to better the situation. The daily menu was priced at €16.90 per person- already quite expensive due to the central location of the restaurant. The menu included appetizers for the whole table to share, assumingely proportioned to the number of people at the table- the waiter told us that yes the appetizers will be a proportioned amount for 4 people. Well, this was not the case— the table of 2 next to us had the exact same amount of bread and pepper salad. My family members had also eaten here before, as 2 diners, and said that the quantity was the exact same as when they came with 2 people as it was today! When we pointed this out to the waiter and asked if they would bring more bread (a very very normal custom here in Spain), he said that there had been a mistake with the other table and they had brought them too much bread. But was it a mistake as well with the pepper salad? It was clearly a lie, as it was not a mistake, but rather a mismanagement of the quantity of food served and lack of doing any sort of proper proportioning based on table size. He continued to argue with my mother in law and uncle and did not diffuse the situation to please us as clients like most servers would do. Additionally, the alioli and tomato serving size was also an embarrassment for 4 people. Overall, the menu describes the food in a way that makes you think you are getting many different appetizers, when really, the quantity was quite average. Finally, the main courses were all very small in size— 3 orders of lubina (sea bass) that were comparatively small for the region and 1 order of solomillo (sirloin) with three small pieces of meat. The food was not bad, but a deceptive and expensive menu + an unpleasant server left us with the conclusion that we...
Read moreBest ever experience in restaurant dining at Alicante. Food is excellent, service is superb. Friendly, attentive and the head waiter was like our favourite uncle.
This place was by far our top restaurant. We don’t usually return to a restaurant when travelling so that we can try as many places as we can. However, we dined at 30 y Tanto twice and that says a lot!
Reservations are recommended for dinner. Lunch is not as crowded.
The Bogavante was fantastic. We thought it was too much (we were 3) but we finished it, after the appetizers.
We were celebrating a friend’s birthday and the uncle-waiter found out and he gave us drinks on the house and sang with the rest of the customers in the restaurant.
All the appetizers were delectable.
Note: Todos las entradas incluidos - that’s 6 entradas plus the main meal.

Read moreThis was a very hot afternoon and we wanted somewhere indoors to cool off. We didn't have a reservation but they seated us pretty quickly. We sat in a separate room at the front of the restaurant which was not the nicest of places but this was probably to keep us away from the noise in the main restaurant which had been taken up by a stag party. They were a little noisy but wasn't too bad that it affected our enjoyment.
The service was OK but considering what was going on they did a good job. The food came promptly and was all cooked well. We thought the Russian salad was excellent; one of the nicest in a restaurant.
We didn't have too much but mostly it was good and well...
