Restaurant Bigoli — Restaurant in Alicante

This is a trendy Italian restaurant that prepares a wide array of traditional Italian and fusion dishes. The design is gorgeous and the ambience is lively yet with an intimate feel.

We had a nice mix of dishes beginning with provoletta al tartufo (grilled smoked cheese) with arugula and sundried tomatoes with a balsamic vinaigrette. Our main dishes ran from a fabulous pizza to tagliatelle with zucchini, prawns and saffron to exquisite pieces of entraña grilled to perfection.

A very complete wine menu - something for everyone. The is also an extensive distilled spirits list along with beer selections.

The wait staff are friendly and attentive but tended to get flustered when the tables fill up. This may be due to the restaurant being recently opened. Regardless, the service was prompt and friendly.

One comment about the interior decor. While fabulous with cleft rock walls, interesting use of mirrors, lighting and artwork, beware the dripping condensation from the air ducts which run above all the perimeter tables. Poorly thought out and they need to add a decorative catch pan to alleviate this issue.

That said, we were all very pleased with our experience at Bigoli and intend to return.

Biogli is a visually impressive restaurant with beautifully designed interiors that make a strong first impression. Unfortunately, the food and service did not live up to expectations.

We started with the Gamberoni Croccanti, which were dry and lacked flavor. The ‘nduja sauce had a promising base but was missing seasoning and depth. The Cappelacci with scallops was better – the pasta was well made, cooked al dente, and had pleasant seafood notes, but again, it lacked seasoning to bring out its full potential.

The Ossobuco featured tender meat and a smooth, well-executed mashed potato. However, the dish felt one-dimensional – not only lacking in seasoning, but also missing complementary elements like vegetables or alternative flavors to balance the richness of the meat.

Service was okay, but inattentive. We waited 15 minutes for the bill before having to ask again.

Overall, Biogli shows potential with its quality ingredients and elegant setting, but the experience was disappointing. The food felt bland and lacked contrast, and the service didn’t meet the level expected from a restaurant in...

Pretty restaurant, terrible food, mediocre service. Verbally advise your guests please, that the stale bread cubes in a bag they drop on the table, with absolutely no request from the diner, will be charged on the bill. A despicable practice that is NOT excused by writing a few lines in the menu. If food is dropped at a table by a server, and was not ordered, the normal client assumes it is part of the service. Other than that the servers were fine but deeply uninterested. Not a single check while we were eating, no questions about our experience or the food quality when we paid. The food was not good, at all. The wild boar ragú tasted of pretty much nothing, the pasta was hard, the sauce watery. My companion’s agnolotti was a small portion, but that didn’t matter because it was terrible, and tasteless as well. We split an artichoke starter that was ok, but the artichokes were not trimmed enough and some of the artichoke leaves were inedible. For 2 extremely mediocre plates of pasta, 2 small artichokes, 2 soft drinks and one glass of wine we paid over 50 euros. ...
