Bar Cafeteria Nueva Tabarca — Restaurant in Alicante

I've had some unfortunate experiences at restaurants, but this one stands out as particularly unpleasant. The concept of "customer is king" seemed to be completely absent here. Despite working in customer service myself, I was shocked by the rudeness displayed by our server. When we inquired about the menu, he grudgingly mentioned paella and seemed irritated when we asked about the advertised pizza. To make matters worse, he wouldn't allow us to move to a shadier spot, even though we had two small kids with us. He also completely ignored another family with children, and when we expressed our gratitude with "gracias," he didn't acknowledge us at all.

To top it off, the restroom conditions were deplorable. The toilets were dirty, and the women's restroom was blocked with boxes, with boxes strewn everywhere. The only saving grace was that the pizza, although frozen and heated up, was the least of our concerns compared to...

Went in for some drinks. All of the staff seemed resolute in some secret pact they had made to ignore us and refused to make eye contact. After a while I waved in a friendly manner, apologised (for politeness) and asked in Spanish if I could order drinks, the incredibly grumpy man asked if we wanted food we said no, that appeared to even further lessen our status. He left us for longer came back and when I had the audacity to ask for the smoothies that were advertised on a sign at the front of establishment refused, even though they sell them - those drinks are only available for takeaway. We left (which was a bit of relief) and I would suggest anyone thinking of going to there to avoid. Oh and they had blocked off the women's toilets. If I could give this minus...
