We were very disappointed because we were so excited about eating here, but the waitress was super rude and we my friend did not get what she asked for. The waitress first tried to convince her that it was the thing she wanted (it was evidently not, 2 of my other friends had the same dish and it was different). Then she apologised because I started arguing with her in Spanish, so she picked up the food and brought it to the kitchen saying she will indeed bring my friend what she asked for and that they got the order wrong. After a minute she comes back carrying the same plate she had brought to the kitchen saying it was indeed was my friend asked and that she ordered just cheese?? But she couldn't decide so later she started saying it was mushrooms, ham and cheese inside, but the mushrooms weren't visible because it was a mushrooms sauce (silly, other two plates had both the mushrooms and the ham and it was quite tasty honestly). When I asked where was the ham, she did not really know what to say. We had to pay for it although it was not what we wanted, they offered no compensation. And the paella was greasy, the croquetas were chewy and really nothing special. The sangria was fine. I do not blame it on the waitress because she was inexperienced and obviously listening to the orders of somebody of the higher rank since she wanted to swap the dish for the right one, but someone obviously told her not to do it, which only means they have a...
Read moreI went here on the advice of my Airbnb host who raves about the food. Finding paella/arroces as a single diner is next to impossible.
When I walked in the waiter who greeted me was incredibly rude when I asked if they were still serving the meal of the day. He curtly replied with “no” and basically gestured me towards the door.
I almost left but turned around when I saw a Spanish couple enter and have no problem sitting at the bar and being served.
The staff was incredibly rude and almost completely ignored me with the exception of one woman, Needia(who was lovely and kind) behind the bar. I was offered the menu by the waiter for Paella for 15 euros in spite of them still offering the smaller portions for like 5 euro from the larger dish to locals. The other younger woman behind the bar who was bartending was basically laughing at me with her coworker. She had a lovely conversation with 2 locals and absolutely ignored me. The service they gave the locals was night and day to how I was treated. I certainly didn’t feel welcome.
Honestly, I’ve almost never had such poor service and I’ve travelled a LOT. I wish they wore name tags so I could call them out by name. I couldn’t wait to get out of there. I’m in Alicante for 3 more days and wouldn’t dream...
Read moreWe are pleased to say that we went to L'arruzz today. Starting with the customer service, followed by the delicious food and finally the drinks we had there, we can say that everything was perfect. We also likes the fact that we had small starters, peanuts followed by bread sticks and bread which made us even more excited for the food that was about to follow. The food took a while to get to us, but that made us realize that it is freshly made and we were so happy with what we got. We also had to ask for an English version of their menu and the person who served us kindly brought it, without us having to ask for it. We didn't plan to go for the desserts as well, as we were already full from the food we had; however we were nicely surprised by it and we recommend saving a bit space for the delicious sweet products they offer.
We appreciate the way we were treated and cared for in L'arruzz Alicante and we hope that you will give this place a chance too, because you will honestly not...
