Restaurante Rio — Restaurant in Alicante

I only come to this place while using Too good to go, as I’m on an extremely tight budget, and my options are limited. So, I can’t speak from a real customer stand-point. Nevertheless, I’d like to admit several qualities.

Location. Very good, right in the center, however in a quite district, away from major traffic. Therefore, sitting on the outside terrace must be pleasant and enjoyable.

Staff. Very good, friendly, always look sharp. To those who might comment on delayed service, I can tell - these guys don’t goof around. So, if you had to wait some longer than you expected, that’s 100% on nature of business during busy time. I had myself to wait a bit longer for my pick-up couple times, but it was clear that staff was loaded with the orders, nothing to do with laziness or unprofessionalism. Once again, kudos to guys who work there, they do great job.

Atmosphere. It’s an old-school place, not about photo-shooting or other fancy elements. You come, you order, you eat, and enjoy your time. I personally like it there, it’s simple and cozy. It has exactly what you need, and nothing more.

Food quality. Let’s put it this way: I came there several times, and each time I got my food, I’ve finished it all. Excellent.

Prices. Can’t speak to that, as I said, I’m not a real-real customer, therefore I’m not aware of the prices. However, I must mention, that the cost I get my orders for, it really saves me. Thanks to this guys I was able to survive pretty well, and I’ll always be grateful to this establishment for participating in program for saving food.

To conclude all in above, I’ll give it well deserved 5 stars. However, I’ll mention it again. It very much depends on your expectations. Do not go there if you desire to appear in any sort of luxury, take pictures of fancy looking food and post them in insta, while listening to cool music. We have been to alicante many times this time we travel 2 families with 2 babys (8month old and and 4 month old baby) + granpa 😁😁 and now we finaly found a resturant with realy realy good service excelent home made food the best spaget bolognes and spageti carbonara in alicante at the best priced we also had the cheescake for desert best cheescake ever😁😁😁😁 so pleas tourists dont fall for the tourist trap resturant close to the beach and main walking street. While walking around Alicante, I found a place where locals flock for drinks. I seated outside and the staff attended to me immediately.

They don’t speak english well but they have a menu in english. I ordered their set meal. Got their paella of the day and paired it with Hake, a local fish in this city.

They also have a lot of dessert options. I tried their tiramisu and paired it with coffee.
