Family dinner for seven, two grandparents, parents and three kids, five, nine and eleven years (the four adults are all in catering). We were tempted by the busy restaurant next door but thought that Capitol Centro was better for us as it was a little quieter (alarm bells should've rung at this point!). We were the only guests, greeted well and soon had a drink. We translated the menu from Google over the free wifi, asking for the password was a doddle. We've placed our order, so now we wait, and wait, and wait.....the youngest two kids were served first and had an easy meal of schnitzel with fries and runner beans. The adults looked on and were happy for the children. The five adults waited and waited and waited! We were then surprised with a dish of calamari presented to us as a kind of appetizer, we think it was more to satisfy us for the time taken. That dish was soon finished and we then waited nearly an hour after the children's meals were served for our main courses to arrive. More wine and drinks were ordered at this point....great, we can now start. As you can see in the pictures taken we are steak eaters, however, all the steaks were served blue, we ordered medium when asked. We were so hungry we just ate. Now think of a blue steak served in a fancy bowl....how do you attempt to cut or tear the steak, with great difficulty. So not only was the steak undercooked, we had trouble trying to cut the damn thing. And what's with the purple sauce? Tasted very bland and couldn't work out the flavour, pretty much flour and water!!!! Still to date, we cannot work out what the item is on top of the steak. It had a buttery texture with no flavour, yet wasn't butter or a fungi. We've posted the pictures on Facebook and still haven't worked it out! The meal was expensive at around €25 each, we paid without causing a fuss and left as the kids at that point were so tired. Steaks are one of the easiest foods to cook and one of the quickest....
Read moreWe ordered drinks and we're given the menus in English...i should of asked for one in Spanish to know exactly what I was getting as not everything translates well. I asked the waiter if the starters of potatoes, bacon, cheese and mayo was a baked potato...no....Is it a potato skin stuffed? No it doesn't have skin. It is sliced...oh OK...I'll have the hamburger with cheese and onion. We later saw the dish which was as I expected...potato skins. My husband and friends ordered lasagna and our friends also had a salad to share....my hamburger came up with 1 lasagna and the salad but it took ages to get the waiters attention to tell him that I didn't order the one with avocado...he took it away, but it was seen seconds later being given to another table.. .and we waited, and waited. My husband finished his when my burger turned up. The chips were cold and I can't say what was wrong but the burger just didn't taste right...we were still waiting for 2 more lasagnas. When we managed to get a waiters attention he wanted to order 2 more.....he'd obviously only ordered 1 instead of 3. Eventually they turned up. Adequate but nothing special....ordering 4 more beers was like we've asked them to go direct to the brewery to get it...we waited and waited.....we eventually got them and asked for the bill knowing how slow the service was.....whilst clearing the plates, they dropped dirty cutlery over one of our friends. We were never given serviettes although our friends were and we believe the manager asked our waiter if he'd given us an aperitif but he just scoffed 'no' (they didn't realise I could understand them). We got our bill and the aperitif but it wasn't cheap and the service was appaulling, the food left little to be desired too. Unfortunately it was a Monday evening and a lot of the restaurants are closed on a Monday unless you want a...
Read moreA lovely licensed cafe restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating in a pedestrian square popular with families of locals and tourists.
An English menu is available and they occasionally have waiting staff who can speak English. Our two visits had fantastic waiting service.
The menu is quite varied and always cooked fresh.
Our first visit was a late lunch for three, two of us had a delicious seafood paella and third equally tasty pork with garlic dip.
Their chips are like homemade chips, among the best I've tasted anywhere.
Cocktails are available, and a pina colada was just €6 and was one of the best and of us had tasted.
Service is very good and the food is of the highest quality.
Lunch for 3 with drinks €57 Dinner for 3 with desserts...
