La Uva Roja — Restaurant in Almeria

We were very happy to see a Georgian restaurant had opened in Almeria and paid a visit as soon as we could. Before arriving, we knew we'd be ordering a khachapuri and some khinkali but were keen to see what other dishes were on offer.

We went for the khachapuri adjaruli (the one with an egg) and weren't disappointed. It was very cheesy and well cooked.

The khinkali were tasty but there's room for improvement. Unfortunately, they were lacking in broth (normally the dough retains a good amount of liquid that you slurp out after the first bite).

We also got some pork skewers (Mtsvadi) which were pretty good but a little dry. The sauce they came with was nice but perhaps could've been punchier.

Service was friendly and efficient. In terms of value for money it was excellent (just over 20 a head for a beer each and more food than we could eat).

We'll definitely be back to try the other khachapuri amongst other things. To be honest, we'll probably be back regularly for beers and khachapuri. Hopefully, they'll expand the list of Georgian dishes. It would be good to see some Georgian tapas on the menu too.

Mi novia y yo decidimos ir a cenar a este sitio ayer por la noche, ya que el negocio que había anterior a este en el mismo local tenía muy buen servicio y era muy agradable. Al no tener reserva esperamos hasta que una mesa se quedó libre y nos sentamos. Pues bien, pasamos 15 minutos de reloj sentados esperando a que nos atendieran y limpiaran la mesa (básicamente hacer su trabajo), cosa que no sucedió, de hecho ni nos miraron en ningún momento, cosa que me pareció surrealista ya que claramente nos vieron llegar y sentarnos. Por si fuera poco, llamé la atención a uno de los camareros para que nos atendieran y nos limpiaran la mesa ya que aún quedaban los platos de los clientes anteriores en la mesa. Me dijo que avisaría a su compañera y nos atendería, justo después se acercó a ella y les vi hablar. Seguidamente la camarera fue a atender a una pareja de la mesa al lado de la nuestra, literalmente a un metro o menos de donde estábamos sentados. Llamé la atención de la camarera y se giró, volví a llamarla por si no me había escuchado y siguió hacia el lado contrario de donde estábamos. Me pareció una falta de respeto enorme, que mínimo que tratar con educación a los clientes y atenderles, y por supuesto, no girarles la cara cuando te están llamando porque la mesa seguía sucia y nadie nos había atendido aún. Ni idea de cómo está la comida porque inmediatamente después de lo sucedido nos levantamos y nos fuimos. Nunca en mi vida me he encontrado con camareros así, yo sé que es un trabajo duro, pero hay gente que quizás debería ganarse la vida de otra forma y no de cara al público. Hora de llegada: 21:45 Hora de irnos: 22:05 Gracias por nada y por supuesto que no le recomendaré a nadie este local, para eso que vayan al capitol que está justo en frente y el personal es educado...

My new fav restaurant😍 didn’t really feel like going out tonight and also everything else in the town was closed at 6pm when we stumbled upon this hungry. Sooo glad we did. Best meal I’ve had in spain over the last 2 weeks. It’s Georgian (a bit like turkish I think??) and truly can tell it’s authenticity in the dishes. We loved everything we ordered. The dumpling dish, beef goulash, grilled octopus on mashed potatoes and must must try the goat cheese salad. AND GET THE DESSERTS !!!! I will be back here again one day to enjoy it all over again.
