El Chambao de Joaquín — Restaurant in Almuñécar

Took my wife here for lunch on a Monday and was very disappointed overall. Firstly the place advertised as opening at 12:30. We got there at 12:45 and were told that no table was available despite only 2 other tables being occupied. We were told Thea earliest we could come back was 14:00 as they were busy. Went across the road for a drink and to waste some time. Watched as the restaurant did not fill up at all. Returned at 13:45 were given a table outside as apparently all the inside tables were booked. The menu showed sea bass for 22 euro and my wife chose that only to be told the price was wrong and it was now 40 euro. I chose the Secreto as it was advertised as coming with sweet potatoes and mushroom. Neither of these appeared, only chips and a couple of padron peppers. My wife had the monkfish and prawn skewer which was literally half the size of the same skewer she had here 2 years ago. Overall very disappointed and shall not return.Do I recommend this place?...

The first time we came, we loved the food and wanted to come back. The second time, we were shunned for sitting at a table before it was placed with menus and as a results and waited over an hour for our food and drinks. It’s no wonder they have terrible reviews.

Edit: to be specific, we sat in total 2.5 hours and were visibly ignored when politely signaling for servers. We were very polite and would always be at any restaurant. We have been in Spain for quite a while and have made friends at neighboring chiringuitos. Service like this is not accepted in any culture.
