Great Spanish restaurant on the "paseo," across the street from the sea in Altea. Wide variety of offerings, including many paellas and "rices," grilled meats, beautiful array of tapas, many traditional local and other Spanish regional foods. Changing delicious "menu del dia" (special menu selection of the day with 2 to 3 courses and beverage.) My wife and I had lunch and drinks at Fronton Playa on January 4th 2023. It was an extremely pleasant experience. The owner and his son were very attentive. Fast service, excellent food, good wine and cold beers. We were lucky enough to find a seat outside, the weather was perfect. Très très déçu ! Ne surtout pas se référer aux photos et anciens commentaires. On s’est fait servir des tapas, au même prix que les rations/plats, surgelées sans goût, que nous n’avons pas pu finir malgré la faim. Panure qui s’effrite pour les calamars avec une texture élastique et parfois dure. Pain avec aïoli, contenant 6 tout petits morceaux de pain, coûtant € 4,5 sur la carte mais facturé à € 5 dans l’addition. Cuisine pas authentique, ni fraîche. Aucun rapport qualité prix.

Heel erg teleurgesteld! Let vooral niet op de foto's en oude reviews. We kregen tapas geserveerd, tegen dezelfde prijs als de porties/gerechten, die diepgevroren, smakeloos waren en die we niet konden opeten ondanks onze honger. Paneermeel dat afbrokkelt zonder zelfs maar aangeraakt te worden bij de calamaris, met een rubberachtige en soms harde textuur. Brood met aïoli, bestaande uit 6 heel kleine stukjes brood, € 4,50 op de kaart maar € 5 op de rekening. Keuken is niet authentiek en ook niet vers. Geen goede...
