A beautiful clean shingle & pebble beach that has a long promenade , that host's a variety of café bar's & eateries & it is an ideal place for a walk or maybe a dip in the clear blue water of the sea . The promenade is well paved & is suitable for cyclists , wheelchairs & walkers alike & offers great views of the sea & the surrounding mountains & classic Spanish architecture of the town of altea , which is a pleasure to visit as it has a host of attractions , ranging from religious sites & antiquities , to art & cultural displays & also it's thriving café culture as before mentioned . So even if you just want a stroll on the beach , or just want a cup of coffee & people watch then the playa de altea could be an ideal place for a visit . The playa is not overly commercial & doesn't have an abundance of shops selling the usual tourist style goods or hawker's selling goods on the beach , so it's just a relaxing back to basics beach resort & a more natural & tranquil setting that offers peace & quiet & beautiful views of the sea & the surrounding mountains . A well maintained beach with good access to the historic town of altea & well worth a visit ! . I have enclosed with this review some pictures of the beach & promenade in the month of December & it still is worth a visit even in the winter months as you will see it's beauty & charm . Well worth a visit whilst here in the town of altea , can...
