This restaurant has great reviews, a beautiful location, and very stylish decor — it's easy to get lured in, especially as a tourist. However, the practices they follow are simply unacceptable.
We ordered a bottle of sparkling water, which was, of course, served already opened. As expected, it tasted like tap water with gas, but I decided not to ruin the mood and let it go — until I saw the price: an outrageous €7 for a 0.7L bottle of water! Yes, seven euros for what was likely fizzy tap water.
Next came a breaded cutlet, served with a panko-style crust that was already falling off. Everything was bland, tasting like the cheapest roadside diner meal you can imagine. It was accompanied by mushy, tasteless asparagus, and all of this came at a ridiculous price of €39 per portion.
The wine selection by the glass was very limited, practically forcing you to go with the house wine, which again tasted like a €2 supermarket bottle. It’s crystal clear that this place is designed purely to make money — and a lot of it — from unsuspecting visitors.
You may be fooled by the decor and location, but the quality and presentation of the food will quickly destroy any illusion.
Finally, the bill came and seemed higher than expected. I assumed perhaps a 10% service charge had been added. I wouldn’t have minded paying that — in fact, I would have gladly done so — but here’s the best part: without any warning or asking for consent, the waiter placed a small plate of bread, olives, and red pepper spread on our table at the beginning. It turned out to be the tastiest part of the meal, but — surprise — it was added to the final bill.
I understand it wasn’t a huge charge, but that’s not the point. It’s about principle. Inform your guests. Ask them. If you place something on the table without an order, it’s fair to assume it’s complimentary.
For this reason, you’re getting 1 star from me and the certainty that I will never return. How this restaurant has an average rating above 4...
Read moreI am extremely disappointed after spending a considerable amount of money on what turned out to be a poor meal and unacceptable service.
Although the experience began pleasantly — the interior was attractive and the view was lovely — everything that followed was a letdown.
My main course was both overcooked and watery. I left half of it uneaten and politely informed the waiter when the plates were being cleared. To my surprise, no acknowledgment or compensation was offered. The dish itself lacked seasoning, colour, and any distinctive flavour — certainly not what I expected for the price.
What made matters worse was the behaviour of the staff. The waiter asked me where I was from, and after I told him, I overheard him making comments about my nationality to another staff member. This is not only unprofessional but deeply inappropriate — especially in a restaurant claiming five-star service.
Throughout the meal, the waiters continued chatting among themselves loudly, to the point that their voices were more prominent than the guests’. It completely disrupted what should have been a relaxing...
Read moreThe location is really nice and the food was delicious. Unfortunately, the waiters were very unmotivated and not really polite. We were also served champagne that had been open for a while and no longer had any bubbles. (flat champagne) The third time, a new bottle was finally opened and the champagne was perfect. Unfortunately, there was no understanding at all and the reaction was also unprofessional as well as annoyed. We were charged for all the glasses, although two were not good at all and were not drunk. The atmosphere was also very unpleasant. Lots of wannabes with no etiquette judging everyone and anyone throughout the evening. The place is very overrated and we won't be coming back or...
