We stumbled upon this restaurant when looking at places to eat in Antequera, and can safely say it was one of the best meals of our lives.
The staff and service were incredible, giving genuine recommendations on food & wine based on our preferences. I also have a nut allergy, so they went out of their way to ensure my peace of mind during each course to ensure there were no nuts at all in the dishes. The location in the evening was a beautiful lit up square, which felt real and historic, I would strongly recommend eating outside.
Now onto the food, which was ASTONISHING. We were a group of 3 which shared each dish, and no dish disappointed. We order two bottles of red wine during our meal, and had the heritage tomatoes & anchovies, cheek croquets, grilled octopus, Iberian ham, steak, and an assortment of desserts. I really can’t stress how fantastic it was to try such a flavourful and ambitious range of dishes, but would also encourage you to do so to experience their full range of culinary talent. No dish has a single item of food which was out of place, and nothing didn’t belong in the menu. You need to go to this restaurant before it becomes famous!!!!
This is a must-visit location if you are dining...
Read moreSensational restaurant set towards the centre of town. Try and sit outside as there's plenty of atmosphere to soak up and you can watch the masses of swifts fly around the rooftops and trees. The food here is the best we ate during our trip to Antequera and we came here a few times as we liked it so much. I'd go as far as saying the Pulpo is the best I've ever eaten, served simply on a bed of delicious potatoes & topped with paprika and red pepper oil. We ordered it for dessert one night as well as mains as it was so delicious. Everything we ate was excellent - prawns, croquettes tuna tartare, Flamenquines. We were so full we only managed their actual dessert menu once and that came in the form of a delicious but deceptively light cheesecake. This might be at the top end of fine dining in Antequera but it's far from expensive. It helps the staff are so nice, as the team running the tables work so hard but still find time for a chat. Special mention to the main man with a passion for Spanish wine and the waitress who greeted us like old friends. This is a special restaurant and we...
Read moreGenuinely one of the best meals I can remember, and certainly the highlight of my holiday. The staff were fantastic; we were welcomed warmly even though we were late in the evening, with our waiter recommending a table for the best views of the square, as well as his pick of the wine and the food menu. We had a nut allergy at the table, and the waiter was great about it, checking every dish (none of which had nuts). The wine was incredible for the price, and every single dish we ordered (tomatoes with anchovies, croquetas, the iberian pork, the steak, and the octopus) all seemed to be better than the last. The octopus was cooked perfectly, the pork melted as you ate it, and the croquetas were the best ones I've ever had by far. For dessert, the waiter brought us a mixed plate of desserts so we could try everything, and included a very generous portion of local Spanish liqueur on the house. The table we had was in the middle of the beautiful square, couldn't have been a nicer atmosphere. Overall one of the most perfect dining...
