The British Bites — Restaurant in Antigua

Decided to check out the new restaurant as the menu looked good, however…. from the moment we sat down, which was on a table right in eye view of the fan , which if i hadn’t moved i probably would have contracted hypothermia, i was in full eye view of the kitchen which is not good as all i could see was the chefs running around like headless chickens( clearly no system ) …. we were sat with menus and no one came over for about 15 minutes, now the place was not busy .. our order was then taken and we got our drinks 15 minutes later which were not complicated… we waited 1 hour for food that did not arrive to which we paid for our drinks and cancelled our food order as did 2 other tables previously. I watched another customer whom had his head phones on and clothes that were dirty and looked tattered, clean the tables and attempt to carry empty glasses to which he dropped ( very unprofessional), i witnessed family members of the owners whom spread around all the tables inside having their own meal like it was family Christmas gathering, in which not one of them had the decency or initiative to help the clearly struggling staff … from someone who works in the hospitality industry it was very disappointing to see there was no structure to the running of the place and clearly the chefs were overwhelmed with the menu which in the first place why would you have a menu so big if the food cannot be cooked efficiently. We came here for food. Granted it was there first night open but it was very bad. It was not busy upon arrival. Before we even ordered our food there were two couples giving out about the wait time and cold food. We said we would give it a try anyway after that. (Worst decision of my life) There were three of us at our table , for drinks we ordered one tea , one pint of beer and a soda and the drinks alone took over 15 minutes. We then proceeded to wait over an hour and twenty minutes for our food. In the meantime two tables have walked out. Us personally we couldn't wait any longer so we paid the bill and left. But when we went to pay the bill we realised the owners family were inside and they were prioritising them over anyone else. I personally wont be back would wish them well...

Great evening meal which was well cooked, very tasty and full of flavour. Service was excellent and the staff were very friendly. We had spicy chicken burger with cheese and chips. Portion of chips was huge and we couldn't eat them all. The waiter informed us the buns for the burgers are made fresh everyday and they were lovely. A very filling meal for a reasonable price.
