absolutely shocking experience here today. we made a special visit to this place as we had visited on our last holiday here 2 years earlier when it was called the pickled palm. we ordered light bite meals for ourselves and our children, we waited 1hour for food to arrive but it all arrived separately so by the time both parts came it was cold. the breakfast was dripping in grease which made my partner ill. the toilet had insects running around the bowl and there were cockroaches running on the bar where food was being served.my mother in laws food order was forgotten so she went hungry for fear of having to wait another hour. in the mean time another customer came, waited for someone to take her order and got fed up and went elsewhere, before our food arrived she had eaten somewhere else and walked past us before we even recieved our food.

the staff attitude was horrendous and because i had the audacity to voice my complaint to staff i was verbally abused by the chef outside the restaraunt who went out of her way to cause a scene as we were stood outside the restaurant ready to leave. food was awful, service was disgusting and i will be making a very formal complaint in due course. we were returning customers who have previously recomended this to others as the pickled palm and have been left upset and angry at how we have been treated. we will certanly not be returning and will be advising all to avoid this place...

Arrived at the view bar and went in to order drinks, got served by a Scottish woman and spent the next hour and a half sat on the terrace with my wife, we were joined by two people we had met earlier in the day, my wife went to the bar and ordered another 4 drinks shortly after the woman (Jimmy cranky) came out and started mouthing off at someone who had come up from another bar 50mtrs away with a drink to speak to a friend basically told him to sod off, she then came to our table and cleared away some glasses, 5 minutes later I went into use the toilet and was greeted with, you can't use the toilet it's customers only to which I reminded Jimmy cranky I'd been sat outside and she had served me, there was only 5 people there obviously she's not very observant or intelligent won't be going back and would urge anyone passing to give it a wide birth!!, her attitude was totally unacceptable and...

We have been eating at these premises for many years with different owners. Today my food was terrible, sausages, mash,peas and gravy. It arrived in a bowl swimming in pretend gravy, with make believe mash (yes I know there is a potato shortage) peas which had no taste, and warm sausages. Friends had Lasagna which was all Pasta and hardly any meat and burnt. Another had Gammon, we have bought Ham thicker. The last was Fish and Chips where there were no complaints.
