Good authentic Canarian restaurant with a difference
First time visiting this restaurant and not sure what to expect. The menu is divided you can have tapas at €5.50 each or chose from a reasonable varied menu of Canarian dishes. The patron gave us and all those in the restaurant small sliced of his Jamón ibérico which can be seen traditionally hanging in the bar area.
We decided on Pimentos Padrón and croquetas de gambas. The peppers where a little bland which is unusual for Padrón peppers but totally acceptable. One small croqueta each which where totally delicious and full of bits of prawns (wish we had ordered more).
I chose the Conejo, pieces of rabbit coated in flour and cooked in white wine, sherry and garlic, served with sliced potatoes. Rabbit can be dry and tough if not cooked correctly, this was neither, totally succulent and mouth-wateringly tender, probably the best rabbit I have had.
My wife chose the Secreto Iberico again cooked in white wine, garlic (lots of it) and served on a bed of fries, totally delicious. We asked for a small portion of Canarian Potatoes which we received complementary. The staff, very attentive and friendly even tolerated my attempt at ordering in Espanol.
A reasonable bottle of Vino de la Casa blanco, bottle of water and complementary bread gave a total bill of €57.72, very happy to recommend and we will be going back to...
Read moreWe had stumbled upon this restaurant on a Saturday night whilst walking down the road looking for a place to eat for 9, which crucially wasn't a tourist trap!
Upon arrival, we could see it had a relaxing atmosphere with a few local couples, friend groups, and 3-generation families.
We were greeted by Manuel, who had quickly prepared our 9 seater table, and issued us out food and drink menus.
We had an array of food, including mixed paella 🥘, rabbit with garlic, and Segovian Suckling Pig, to name a few, as well as the standard tapas favourites. All 9 enjoyed and finished all our food; as well as the desserts and house wine 🍷.
The cost was fair and good value. Manuel was also an excellent host, very amiable with superb customer service, He even took the time at the end, upon request, to split the bill for everyone so we had our own separate receipts.
We had a fantastic time there. We really felt the warm welcome, and it was a perfect end to our night. Whenever I go back go Tenerife, I will have to go...
Read moreVisited this beautiful restaurant recently. The food we ordered was delicious. However not all of it arrived. It was asked for twice and still no food. Restaurant was busy, however the Manager in my opinion was very rude and did not solve the issue in a very nice manner. So much so I actually got Mad at the man and his attitude. He asked me what I wanted as he was busy. I could see that. I said for you to have a better attitude with good people. He was very attentive with a party of 10 outside the restaurant awaiting a table that they hadn't reserved. I will say the waiters were very good and never stopped and also never stopped smiling. Their manager could learn a lot from them. Sadly because of this I will not revisit a very beautiful authentic Spanish Restaurant which...
