The food is delicious, quite expensive, but a lovely treat. We went for my son's birthday, he had birthday sunglasses and badges. They went in to pick the cakes they wanted. As hard to explain as they have no names or numbers. She was very huffy. After ordering for the kids, I waited to see if they liked them before ordering my food, when I went back in I could see they were busy, so stood patiently, until she was finished. She turned around shouted really nastily at me that she had all these other people in front of me and I would have to wait for ages. I was so shocked as were the other customers, one of which actually apologised on behalf of all Belgium people. Everyone has finished their food in my party, before my bruschetta had even arrived, so I went in to ask politely where my food was, the nicer lady with the short hair, said it was coming. Then another 5 minutes later, the rude lady came out and told me that I was not the only customer. I said I had only asked, in case I had been forgotten, but I did have a problem with how she was speaking to me. My food eventually came, the bread was nice, and warm, the toppings disappointing we finished our food, asked for the bill which came to just over âŹ33. The lady not once wish my son happy birthday. Gave my change and rudely said thank you and goodbye. This is the first time in my life that I can recall I don't leave a tip. Definitely my first time in Palm mar, where the service is usually so friendly. It's such a shame as the cakes are very delicious, just very ruined by the miserable, rude service. Half or what was said, will not translate in writing to just how very rude, abrupt it was, as I am still very much shocked. The food minus the bruschetta would receive 5 stars, but the service would receive -5 stars, hence...
Read moreI have dipped in and out this Belgian cafe and am always at a loss as to why you would go there. On this particular early morning it was nice to see it open which is always a positive. However I am a firm believer that if you are a cafe that just has to cook pre made pastries at least get them right, on this occasion the morning croissants were all burnt the second minimum requirement is to get the coffee right, using cheap raw materials and then not even taking the time to prepare the milk properly is absolutely criminal. I will not go there again, fortunately Palm Mar has better breakfast option early in...
Read moreWe had breakfast here while staying up the road. I can highly recommend Pan A Pan. The ladies were very nice, gave great service and the food was delicious. I had the scrambled eggs - I'm fussy, but this was easily the best scrambled egg I've ever had. Will definitely be returning.
My only disappointment was the Mille-Feuille pastry I had for later. It tasted great but the pasty to filling ration was off making...
