Resto Tapati — Restaurant in Arona

We wanted to have dinner at this place and arrived exactly at 6:00 PM when they were supposed to open. However, we were turned away and told that they couldn’t serve us because they wouldn’t be able to prepare any food within an hour. Very disappointing experience, especially since we came on time and were ready to order right away.

What made the situation even more frustrating was that when we passed by again at 7:30 PM, only three tables were occupied. The place was far from busy. Given that the restaurant is only open from 6 PM to 9 PM, it’s surprising they turn away paying guests right at opening time — especially when there’s no crowd. This is a shame as the food was actually very good, but certainly not worth the insanely long waiting time. We ordered steak which tbh only takes a few minutes to cook. Possible explanation could be that the restaurant was short staffed that evening (we didnt know for sure because our waitress didnt give any explanation) but at least be transparent and apologetic about it.

NOT for vegetarians. We booked this restaurant for our 46th wedding anniversary having been here in previous years. It states it is vegetarian friendly. When we sat down the menu was presented but there were no vegetarian options. We therefore enquired and after the waiter went to the kitchen we were told the only choice they could give my wife was goats cheese salad. This was for both main course or starter! I must admit for me (a meat and fish eater) the menu looked great however in the 21st century no vegetarian options??? If you like meat and fish please go. If you are vegetarian...
