Casa Nené — Restaurant in Arzúa

It was a pleasure to find this quaint charming restaurant as a tribute to his abuela. My hotel reserved a table for me. The menu was modern. The ingredients were fresh. The wine list was delightful. As other reviewers said, Casa Nené could aspire for a Michelin star, but with some improvements. It would be nicer if the bread was served warm and in a small basket. The fat on Galician entrecôte gave its flavour, but it would pair better with mashed potatoes and pickled root vegetables (than with salty crisps). The flow of waiters between outdoor, bar and first floor seatings could be made more efficient. On the first floor, the customer service by Miguel was attentive. Addressing customers by their names is what you would normally get in Business class flights, fine dining restaurants, or your local cafe. His wine recommendations were good too. I had the pleasure of dining at Casa Nené while visiting Arzua on our way to Compostela, and it was truly a delightful experience. This charming restaurant, nestled in an old house where Nene used to live, immediately caught our attention with its carefully curated decor.

From the moment we walked in, the service was impeccable. The staff went above and beyond to ensure we had a memorable evening. What truly stood out, though, were the exquisite local dishes with a gourmet twist. Each bite was a burst of flavor, showcasing the skill and passion of the chefs.

The wine selection, recommended by the sommelier, was simply to die for. It perfectly complemented our meal and enhanced the overall dining experience.

One piece of advice: be sure to make reservations ahead of time. The restaurant's intimate setting means it fills up quickly, and you won't want to miss out on this culinary gem in Arzua.

We had heard of this restaurant and although the main menu wasn't available until 7:30pm, the waiter sold us on the smaller menu which was basically a small plate selection. We ordered a great salad with chicken peas, a cheese board which was amazing and the fajitas. The bread came out first with cold beer......awesome with the olive oil and black salt......next came the cheese board with five types of cheeses ....all fantastic and the came the fajitas. Clearly not the sizzling chicken beef or shrimp you find in the USA and the process of assembling with fresh ingredients and tortillas. We received six rolled fajitas either air fried or deep fried similar to egg rolls. Very good tasting and a little over done.....we enjoyed our time here. The waiter was superb and really helped us out when it came to understanding the menu. Elwe will be back...
