Confused by the relatively high rating this restaurant has, given my experience there this afternoon. I was drawn in by the sign out front advertising the menu del dia—11.90€ for a starter, main, dessert, drink, and bread sounded perfect as a student on a budget. However, the waiter told me that the menu del dia was finished when I asked for it; this is despite there being no posted start/end times for the offer on the sign, nor had I come in late for lunch (1:30pm). I should have just stood up and left, but I ordered the chicken shawarma plate. It arrived very quickly and came with chicken, hummus, and a tiny soggy portion of lettuce, all drizzled in tahini. The chicken had an unremarkable flavor and a strange, slightly rubbery texture, while the hummus was bland and tasted the same as the sauce. The pita bread I was offered was stale and tasteless—I had a single bite and decided having more wasn’t worth it. After I finished and left, the food did not sit well in my stomach, either. While the service was very warm and welcoming, I cannot recommend this restaurant due to its false advertising and...
Read moreAl Waha is a great restaurant. The food is amazing and the staff are fantastic. We’ve been going there for 6 months now at least once a week and from Day One they were very welcoming to us with our 18-month old son who makes a mess with the food and they always are so nice about it. Now every time we go back we get big smiles from very kind Sakher who usually serves us. Hicham is also very friendly and all the staff make us feel at home there. If you want to find an excellent restaurant that is also really child-friendly, look no further than Al Waha! Thoroughly...
