I used to hate brunch. The concept of eating a big breakfast for more money than a regular lunch, and having to queue on top of it was something that I couldn't understand 🤷♂️. The biggest issue for me was the line. I can't stand lines. Not to eat, at least. Most restaurants accept booking and I don't know why others don't. It's a service to the customers, just like the quality of the food or a clean bathroom. Many say that venues that work with no bookings do so because they can afford it, since they always are full. I understand that but I still find it strange. Why don't they lower the quality of the food? They can afford it because they're always full... Wouldn't that be absurd? Fortunately, nowadays, there are brunch places pretty much all over Barcelona and in every big city. Therefore, if a place is full, we can go to another one. And apparently, lines are less common or don't last as long... So now I like brunch! 🥳 A few weeks ago, we went to a place that's near our apartment with a couple of friends: Eat My Trip. We could find a table after a 5-minute wait and that was great. I was just coming back from the US so I ordered pancakes to remind me of my recent trip. Although they looked fluffy, they were a bit too thick and dense. Plus there was too little syrup for the quantity of pancakes. My wife ordered an avocado toast with poached eggs that were not cooked properly so we asked the waiter to change them. They brought 2 new ones, which was nice, but in a small plate and when they arrived they were already cold. Not to mention that the rest of the table had already finished eating. It's not the best but that can happen. The staff was very nice, btw, and they totally understood our complaint about the eggs. The avocado toast was regular. So the food more or less was ok. What was not ok was that we asked the staff to close the door because it was getting very cold inside and they told us they couldn't because of the kitchen, so we ended up freezing 🥶, which is not the most comfortable way to eat. Overall it was not a great experience but I know how to fix this for next time: I won't go back in winter and I'll ask for extra mapple (and salt for the toast and the eggs) in advance, and everything should go fine. Because there's something very good about this place: it is affordable: about €15 per guest.

Read moreI had the pleasure of dining at EatMyTrip during my recent visit to Barcelona, and I must say, it was an experience to remember. From the moment I stepped through the door, I was greeted with warmth and hospitality that set the tone for the rest of the evening.
Now, let's talk about the food—the star of the show. I decided to try the strawberry French toast, and oh my, was it a culinary masterpiece! Each bite was a symphony of flavors—the sweetness of the strawberries perfectly complemented by the rich cream and the light, fluffy texture of the toast. It was like a party in my mouth!
And let's not forget about the hot chocolate. It was like sipping on a velvety dream, rich and indulgent with just the right amount of sweetness. It paired perfectly with the French toast, elevating the entire dining experience to new heights.
But what truly impressed me was that my friends also had an incredible dining experience, each enjoying their individual choices just as much as I did. From the attentive service to the cozy ambiance, everything about EatMyTrip exudes excellence.
In conclusion, if you find yourself in Barcelona craving a delicious breakfast that will tantalize your taste buds and leave you wanting more, look no further...

Our first impression was that the food presentation was appealing, but unfortunately, it didn’t taste as good as it looked—it was quite bland. The prices are exorbitant for what you get, especially considering there are many other options in Barcelona offering better food, superior service, and lower prices.
However, the main reason I’m giving this place a one-star rating is due to a misleading experience when it came time to pay. We were initially told the bill was 51.43 EUR, when in fact, it should have been 46.75 EUR. Despite our overall experience, I decided to round up the payment to 55 EUR. What we were not informed of, though, was that a tip had already been included in the total. This led to me unknowingly leaving an extra 10 EUR tip on a 46.75 EUR bill, which is absolutely unacceptable - see screenshot in there.
Additionally, it is illegal in Barcelona not to disclose the correct price. As a local, I can confidently say that this place is a tourist trap. I strongly recommend choosing a better local establishment...
