Jaume Fuster Public Library — Attraction in Barcelona

The library was named after a Catalan writer called Jaume Fuster, and it was built between the years 2001-2005. This library is in Lesseps square. It's a modern building with enormous windows, and this allows a lot of light inside. When you enter you can find a Café on the right; that is the only noisy zone. On the left, there is another room where you can relax reading magazines, next to it, there is the reception, where you are given your own library card and you can ask for doubts. It also has toilettes and there's an exhibition zone. On the right, you can find the children's space, which is always noisier than other parts in the library. Here children can read some tales and use the computers, and specially there are lots of movies. The library has got three more floors, and they are full of books shelves , tables and computers. There is also an auditory on the ground floor, and it is used for events like "the Floral games". As a summary, it is a great place to relax and take your mind off, and a place where you can concentrate on doing...

Dos inconvenients: soroll a la planta baixa: la gent xerra en veu alta, els nens criden en veu altíssima, i ningú els diu res (ni als petits ni als grans). Els bibliotecaris parlen com si fossin al carrer (encara que això passa a gairebé totes les biblioteques). Soroll a les plantes altes: qui va triar el model de cadires no va pensar que quan s'arrosseguen fan un soroll fortíssim només que les desplacis cinc centímetres? Els guanyadors del premi FAD no van pensar que l'acústica del local amplificaria el soroll de les cadires a nivells megadecibèlics (si se'm permet la hipèrbole). Potser pensaven que dissenyaven una discoteca? O potser només pensaven en el disseny i no en el futur usuari? Suggereixo que, almenys, s'hi posin topalls de goma o de plàstic. El soroll es reduiria a la meitat. A part d'això, la biblioteca s'ha anat omplint de mica en mica i ara ja té un volum de lletra impresa considerable. També es van ordenar ja fa temps les pel·lícules (arran del llegat Biel Moll) i ara ja pots trobar la que busques. La llum és gloriosa, n'hi ha molta. L'espai és immens. L'edifici és molt bonic, potser més com a obra arquitectònica monumental que com a biblioteca per a fer servir. Francament, em trobo més a gust en una biblioteca tipus Clarà, per la mida i el respecte de la gent, que no pas aquí. Tenint en compte la quantitat de biblioteques que hi ha a la ciutat, penso que seria millor fer-ne per a un nombre més petit de gent i que es mantinguessin dintre d'uns límits...

Biblioteca is amazing, sort of books, staff inside, environment for read, work, but Cafetería is disgusting. Service girl is discriminating people she is talking very rude. She only follows and serve for man. In the cafeteria of this biblioteca having this kind of person is a shame. Instead of saying sorry she said go if you don't like. Shame on you who hired this girl. I cannot write here her name because she is hiding her name, but you can find her in the shift...
