We discovered La Forquilla through the Michelin app, and it turned out to be one of the most remarkable dining experiences I’ve ever had — not just in Barcelona, but anywhere in the world. Even if fine dining isn’t typically your thing, this restaurant is worth visiting just to witness the incredible dedication and artistry of the owner.

This is truly a one-man show — the chef is also the server, sommelier, dishwasher, barback, and host. With only about a dozen guests per evening, he somehow manages to handle every aspect of service flawlessly. Watching him seamlessly move from preparing each dish to clearing tables, all while describing the ingredients and thought process behind every creation, is nothing short of mesmerizing.

The tasting menu itself was extraordinary — each course outdid the one before it, with zero weak spots. Every dish was executed with precision and passion, and the balance of flavors was impeccable. It’s rare to find a tasting menu where every single course feels like a highlight, but this one achieves it.

If you enjoy wine, the pairing experience is not to be missed. The selection is clearly curated with care, featuring exceptional local wines — some from tiny, hard-to-find producers — that complement the food beautifully.

Unique dining experience

I enjoyed my second visit to Vidals Restaurant. Vidal is truly an inspiration. I love the new place of his restaurant, his passionate and empathic way to surprise his customers with the most delicious, creative and perfectly executed and presented local food and wine from smaller wineries. Vidal opens the door to a michelin star like cuisine and at the same time is reasonably priced. I hope Vidal can inspire many more people with his heart and love for hospitality and even forward his knowledge to others. There are few people like Vidal, reaching out for their dreams and consistently following them (he told me it is the restaurants 12th birthday this month). I used to work in fine dining restaurants, but his place is unique. He himself is the host, chef, manager etc. He relys truly on his crafts and is able to be everywhere at once. Loved my experience there. Its a one man show and i can understand sometimes that can be overwhelming but maybe a little bit more patience is required on the owner's part when dealing with clients who don't speak English, Spanish or Catalan.

The food was excellent, the attention to detail is there. I love how its not super loud inside and you can chill have a great time.

It was my cousin's birthday and he even suprised her with a birthday treat while juggling his kitchen and orders. So he does make you feel special.
