Después de ver tanto revuelo en redes y pasar infinidad de veces por delante del local de The 99 Cheesecake en carrer Aribau 42 (Barcelona), por fin me animé a probar su ya famosa tarta de queso. ¡Y la verdad, entiendo por qué tanto hype!

Probé la Clásica, en formato porción (la mediana, ideal como postre individual), por solo 0,99€, un precio que a día de hoy es casi simbólico. También tienen una versión grande por 14€, además de algunas opciones con toppings. La textura es cremosa, el sabor suave pero muy bien logrado, sin florituras innecesarias. Una receta sencilla que cumple lo que promete. No es la tarta de queso más gourmet que he probado, pero sí una de las más honestas en relación calidad-precio.

El local es pequeño, de estética muy básica, casi minimalista. Está pensado claramente para llevar. El servicio es rápido, el personal joven y amable, aunque aún en fase de aprendizaje. Se nota que están empezando, pero con buena actitud.

📦 Como punto a mejorar, me faltó ver información sobre la conservación del producto y la fecha de caducidad en la caja grande, algo importante si piensas llevarla para consumir más tarde o regalar.

♻️ Y una observación constructiva: es impresionante la cantidad de envases de esta tienda que uno puede ver incluso caminando hacia Plaza Cataluña. En las papeleras cercanas es habitual ver los envoltorios (señal de que venden mucho, lo cual es positivo), pero creo que no estaría de más que el local dispusiera de una papelera propia cerca de la entrada, e idealmente diferenciada para cartón y cucharas de plástico. Mucha gente se queda comiendo allí mismo en la acera de enfrente, y facilitar ese pequeño gesto ayudaría mucho a mantener la zona limpia y en sintonía con un consumo más sostenible. Sería un detalle que el público agradecería y una gran señal de compromiso por parte del negocio.

En resumen: si pasas por la zona y te apetece un postre rápido, sabroso y barato, The 99 Cheesecake es una opción muy recomendable. Y si siguen puliendo pequeños detalles, tienen todo para consolidarse aún más, tanto en Barcelona como en su futura...

I just tried this Cheesecake shop. Got a slice of the Classic with Pistachio topping and the Lotus one.

Service received by the young male staff was good. He was most pleasant.

I love Cheesecake and was so looking forward to enjoying these. However this did not live upto my expectations.

The slices are cut randomly. The size of my two slices differed and the Classic one was much smaller and was broken from the middle. Yes it was only 99 cents but still it should be a proper slice.

The Lotus had no taste at all. The texture too was not the best. It was quite gluggy and flavourless.The Classic at least had better mouthfeel, even though it wasn't the best.
