Bodeguita El Chico — Restaurant in Benahavís

We often stay in Benahavis but not on this occasion. I was looking forward to Chico’s wings and drinks in the lane outside this tiny bar which I’ve frequented over the years. Arrived shortly after 5pm, nobody else seated, or even approaching the bar. One member of our family was wearing a vest style top. ( it’s over 30 degrees ) We were refused drinks on this basis. We’re a family with kids in their 20’s, my daughter was wearing a sleeveless top which was acceptable but her boyfriend’s sleeveless top was not (nothing offensive about the garment or the lad who was wearing it)

We didn’t experience this reception in other bars in Benahavis.

Patética actitud triunfalista y de superioridad por parte del dueño del local y su hijo, al denegar sentarse en la terraza a una persona con discapacidad con su perro, alegando que la calle era suya y que ningún perro podría estar allí, violando el artículo 29.2 de la ley de bienestar animal, además de exhibir en público una total falta de empatía y sensibilidad, más bien pertenecientes a mentalidades radicales y retrógradas de otros tiempos, con un trato muy alejado de lo que un lugar de hostelería...

We have gone to this 'MUST DO' bars for years and have never been disappointed. Chico senior is now retired but his son Chico runs the bar in just a slick way. The front of house is now done by Junior and he keeps control extremely well. If there are no tables outside we wait in the bar and he will get us a table when one becomes free which we think is excellent service. The drinks are the best in the village. Tapas are SOOOO good and fresh. Price point is excellent and everyone...
