Blankko Restaurant & Lounge Bar — Restaurant in Benalmádena

It genuinely saddens me to have to write this negative review, but the manager at Blankko, Salvador has had since May to respond to my email and has chosen to ignore me. We had our wedding in Blankko in May 2019 and experienced shoddy communication and lack of professionalism from the manager since our first meeting - April 2018. From that date to our wedding 25th May 2019, we met with the manager on a total of 5 occasions and, at each of these meetings, confirmed the number of guests; 92, the menu; cocktail, the music; Live Music and and DJ. Due to my unease that the manager made no notes of our requests, I confirmed each of these meetings via email and Wassap with everyone concerned in the organisation of our wedding. So everyone clearly was aware of guest numbers, music arrangements, times etc. Yet on our wedding day Salvador refused to allow our musicians to set up, stating he was not told we were having live music - this is just untrue ! So as the musicians were ready to leave - one of our guests took on the role of negotiator, the manager relented, allowing the musicians to play hidden behind a screen with minimal volume - absolutely not what he agreed in the meetings we had had ! Food - cocktail menu includes wine, beer, soft drinks - 2 waiters to serve 92 guests with food and drink inevitably led to guests not receiving enough food or even drinks. As the bride - I had to chase one of the waiters to bring me 1 glass of wine ! Why weren't bottles of wine, water on the table? Or more than 2 waiters to serve a party of 92 ? Quality of the food was good, but quantity certainly NOT value for money ! We even experienced some of our guests ordering the children's meal as they were not receiving any of the tapas ! (Embarrassing) and we were charged extra ! Later in the evening we had agreed for snacks for 50 people - 2 trays of empadillas and some chips - seriously ? How on earth is this supposed to feed 50 people? The quantity was only enough to feed the kids - and again over charged. To make matters worse the manager cornered me at 03.30 am as we were leaving to make the bank transfer for the outstanding balance ! By this point I was seriously just desperate to leave the place - and my husband was so annoyed with Blankko manager that I really did not want him to have anything else to do with him. So on the night of my wedding at 3 in the morning I was made pay via my mobile banking app ! This should speak volumes ! The view is spectacular, the restaurant in need to some TLC ( cracked chairs, broken toilet seat, walls need painted etc ) But most importantly new management is essential ! If you are thinking about a wedding here get EVERYTHING in writing signed, ensure there will be more staff and choose a set menu ! Or better still -...

El restaurante está junto al mar, sobre una colina donde está situada una antigua torre vigía, tiene una zona con césped y jardín, con un bonito estilo mediterráneo. En un ambiente sereno y elegante,tuvimos nuestra ceremonia sencilla, bajo un arco decorado con flores de tonos azules y blancas, fieles a nuestro gusto. El restaurante está preparado para todas las estaciones del año, es decir, haga calor, llueva o haga viento, los invitados pueden resguardarse. También tiene salón para los más fiesteros. Salvador (nuestro anfitrión), hombre cercano y afable, realizó una gestión impecable desde el primer momento, controlando con maestría todos los tiempos: desde nuestra entrada nupcial juntos (al ritmo y al son de The Verve y AudioSlave), el ritmo de las damas, cóctel, almuerzo,…, que fluía sin descanso hasta la caída del sol, todo ello con unas vistas fabulosas al mar y con una luz preciosa al atardecer. Salvador nos ayudó a que todo aquello que mostraba nuestra personalidad quedaran presentes en cada detalle. Los camareros supersimpáticos y atentos ( me lo comentaron familiares y amigos), yo misma con la copa siempre llena. Para la comida, nos dio facilidades para adaptarla a nuestro gusto y preferencias...cero problemas. Pusimos mucha variedad de canapés fríos y calientes, también nos eligió un jamón con su correspondiente cortador profesional,que fue todo un éxito. Durante el cóctel, bebidas de todo tipo sin falta. Mi amiga Laura, se me acercó y me dijo: “ ¡Niña! mejor que los de mi boda “ , y creerme que ella tenía el listón muy alto. Los platos, a tiempo y buen ritmo, el bacalao fue un éxito rotundo. Mención especial, para la ensaladilla rusa casera, por obra y honor de la mujer de Salvador… recién hecha. Nos permitió hacer la decoración en diferentes zonas del restaurante, y no puso ningún tipo de pegas; dando facilidades, y hasta ayuda con sus mesas para mis distintas decoraciones personalizadas, regalos , farolillos ,manteles, mis exitosos servilleteros (jajaja), ...etc ,y hasta el árbol donde colgué mi tapiz de sitting plan de invitados. También nos permitió traer dos tartas externas ( la del cumpleaños de mi madre y la nuestra de boda), sin ningún tipo de problemas para cortar y repartir entre los invitados. La barra libre la puedes elegir y contratar con los menú ,el tiempo que consideres. Salvador se pasó por algunas mesas durante el transcurso del día, interesándose por el bienestar de los comensales, una muestra de esmero, esfuerzo y dedicación que no se nos pasó desapercibida (yo misma fui testigo), y eso es de agradecer. Soy peluquera y autónomo y sé reconocer el esfuerzo, el esmero y el gran trabajo que conlleva a personas como Salvador. ¡Vamos porque no teníamos más presupuesto, porque si no reservamos el restaurante para una boda de tres días ! No podíamos haber elegido un sitio mejor por todo: por la idea que tuvimos en mente desde el principio, cerca del mar, que fuera acogedora, tranquila y familiar. Mi familia y amigos me dijeron que fue un boda muy bonita ,sencilla y preciosa por el sitio tan bonito y lo bien que estuvo todo (y tengo gente de confianza que sé que me dice la verdad, por suerte). Hasta algunos familiares en plan "sentimentaloides" me agradecieron el día tan especial e inolvidable que les ofrecimos...Gracias Salvador por...

We got married at Blankko on 29.09.2022. We had the best day of our lives. It was all perfect and the staff were just amazing! So attentive and funny. We would especially like to thank George for keeping all of our guests entertained and serving drinks during the evening, you helped keep everyone smiling. Nothing was to much trouble for Salvador and the staff. We started at 3:00 and was there till 12:00, we danced all night outside and had the most amazing time! We also had a live guitar player through the ceremony, cocktail Hour and dinner which was amazing!

We couldn’t recommend this enough, words just cannot describe how beautiful the venue is and also it is the staff that make it.

The food is to die for. All of our guests constantly commented on how amazing it all tasted, from the canapés, the dinner and evening snacks. There was so much food none went hungry and the quality was better than you could imagine.
