Really dangerous place, I would avoid it at all costs - especially if you are a woman. You can't trust the bar staff. On Thursday June 30th, I had a really unsettling experience with a member of Molly Malone's staff. What was initially a friendly chat turned sour and ended in violence. The staff member eventually started pushing me to go to his apartment and I clearly stated I wasn't interested. At one stage I asked him to look me in the eyes and see that I was saying "no" and just wanted to go home. A good samaritan in the smoking area came over and told him to leave me alone. Then the staff member slapped this guy full force across the face. The guy who came to my rescue was simply trying to explain to the staff member that I was clearly not interested and he needed to stop pushing me to go home with him. He wasn't aggressive, but the staff member chose violence immediately. BTW if you're reading this, real men use their words and being violent isn't going to attract anyone -- learn how to control your emotions like a grown up please. I ran away as fast as I could back to our accommodation right after this happened because I can't bare violence. I don't know if the guy who came to help ended up in a horrible fight or what. I can't stand to think he was hurt when just trying to be a good guy and help a girl on her own. I am terrified of what this man might have done to me if he managed to get me alone. If I was spiked I have no doubt he would have hurt me. Me and my friends later heard from a woman who works in the area that this particular club and St. Anthony's are extremely dangerous with male bar staff spiking girls. Apparently the turn over is huge and this doesn't surprise me. Molly Malone's need to do better to protect your customers, especially vulnerable women who are in danger because of the people...
Read moreWe travelled on a couple's holiday with four other couples, ages 25 to 35. We were advised by our hotel that this was an ok place to drink for late-night dancing etc. The bar/club itself was ok, and the drinks seemed ok prices-wise and had a good music choice, although when they started pouring shots into people's mouths from the bar, that should have been a warning sign for us to leave.
Please be warned about this bar, as foreign men out on their own are dangerous, trying to start fights and being disrespectful to females in many ways. We tried reporting this to the door staff and bar staff but were told, "it was time for us to leave."
I would not attend this area or bar again, as it didn't feel safe the more the...
Read moreThe place itself was a lot of fun up to the point where a fight broke out. There was a fella with a face covered in blood and another one trying to still fight him. My mate stood in front of the guy who was trying to fight more, to stop the fight and next thing we know the bouncer grab him and threw him down the floor. My mate was trying to get up and the bouncer stopped choking him then dragged him out and threw him down the stairs (we have witnesses). The guy lost conscious about 3 times. We tried to call an ambulance and the police but they wouldn't understand us and none of us spoke English. The management of this pub should really look into the...
