Kind waitress but the food was absolutely boring and tasteless. Even the kids did not like it. We had: Risotto Foie (not very exciting but to be fair it was without cream as I am allergic. But cream shouldnt be the main taste.) Fries tasted like old oil and quite dull. Pasta carbonara was the only tasty thing. *But don’t be fooled by the ratings as we felt quite fooled. We drove 20min to get here and try it. The pizza stagione was lower than average for a place called "Pizza Palace" it could have been much better. We all had better pizzas in La Cala, Marbella, Puerto Banus and Estepona.
On a windy day out of season it’s a very nice place to sit in the sun here.
But all in all it’s not as good as we hoped at all. Sorry - this place needs a lot of work.
But if it hadnt been for the nice very efficient waitress we would have given it less stars. To be fair all of us asked one by one in the family: "How many stars would you give your experience" and we got the total of 2 stars. One said 3 stars and the other 2.5 and two of us said 2 stars.
I suggest for this place to become more nice: First of all better quality fries, use hellmans mayo or a nice brand, always bring ketchup and mayo when serving fries, Put pizza-oils and salt+pepper on the table so people can make the food better themselves, update the interior as it's a bit outdated (but we know that corona has not made people rich so we understand that times can be hard)... We hope this helps and hopefully make things much better :-)
** Update: After I see the reply from the restaurant I can clearly see that someone is hurt and is personally telling me that I can't taste and am bored with life ! Thats sad that a restaurant owner cannot take any criticism and turn it around to something constructive. This shows that some restaurants are too stubborn to be open to suggestions or change - sadly.
What I would do if I got a bad rating in my restaurant from a paying customer who spend their hard earned money in my place. I would not tell them they have no taste or a sad life. Instead I would send this: "I'm very sorry we could not live up to your expectation. If we had known we would gladly have heard your feedback before you made the review. Im sorry if the waitress did not ask you if you where satisfied. We are working on getting better every day. So thanks for your feedback. If you ever decide to visit us again one day, we would love to give you a complimentary pizza or pasta to your liking on the house. We want you to show you that we are very passionate about tasty food and we will gladly see you trying our food again - then im sure you would give us 5 stars next time. We wish you...
Read moreOrdered mussels and a pizza Napolitano. The mussels took 25 min to come. They were good or maybe we were just starving. Debatable. 45 min later still no pizza. We went to go ask the waitress how much longer and if we couldn't get the order soon we would cancel. They were more than willing to cancel the order or we could wait 25 minutes. When they brought the bill, we asked for a discount, instead we received the owner or manager asking us what the problem was. We explained and he stated he could make the pizza for us now. We said this is ridiculous and we shouldn't be paying and would be willing to pay half of the biill, he proceeded to threaten to call the police on us. No sorry, no empathy for two starving people that were willing to pay tourist prices in this part of town. If you are tempted for a pizza made in a wood fire oven, don't bother unless you want to eat maybe an hour later. If at least there was some empathy shown for the delay we may have stayed and excused this horrible service. As the Spanish say. Nada.
Don't go hungry if you are willing to try this tourist trap with horrible service. And the sad part is we really...
Read moreIt doesn't look much from the outside-plastic chairs and tables, the sort of place you take young kids to on holiday for a cheap meal. Dismissing it for this would be a grave mistake, however. The food was amazing. We both had Garlic bread and cheese, which was served calzone-style and was heavenly. Our pizzas were gorgeous. The crust was perfect-light and airy, not soggy but not too crispy, the flavours were subtle and spicy and the whole thing was cooked to perfection. My partner had the calzone with ham, cheese and onion, which I tried and we were both blown away by the incredible flavours.
The service was polite, attentive but not intrusive, the music was intrusive and the perfect backdrop to the meal.
We both struggled to remember ever eating pizza this good. Incredible value and our favourite meal of the week in Benalmadena. I have never given 5 stars for everything before but this place...
