De Fano, - More like Di saster!! On arrival we were seated outside which was fine, we then ordered drinks in between this we were asked another 4 times did we want drinks , then drinks never arrived , we complained and got no apology. We ordered 1 carbonara and 2 bolognese , food was mediocre bolognese was quite tasteless compared to spaghetti we had a few nights earlier in Sabatinis it was amazing. Not once did anyone come near us to ask was everything ok? We then sat for ages waiting for our plates to be cleared. In the meantime the waiter knocked a bottle of vinegar of a table beside it it smashed sending shards of glass everywhere inc under our table, he made a poor attempt to clear it up when we left there was still glass everywhere. When we got the bill again we had to wait so long to pay I had to go inside. The waiter who took my Payment was quite rude and I told him his customer service was poor to which he just shrugged his shoulders. Overall a terrible experience, as a tourist I was not showered with the same attention as the locals who came in and got great greetings and service. De Fano you need to make customers feel more welcome and sharpen up your service ! Sorry for the essay but I feel it...
Read moreService was okay. Wasn't overly busy so would have been nice to have been asked if everything was okay etc like normal tabale service. Atmosphere was nice. The place is definitely dated and would have been a totally different experience if we were seated inside as it was just so dull and the decor was in need of a desperate update. The food was absolutely terrible. I had the ravioli with meat colognes sauce and it was seriously bland. The ravioli was tough and could tell it was could from frozen. The 4 cheese gnochi my wife ate had absolutely no flavour to it whatsoever, the sauce was runny and tasted like it was from a packet. My mum had the spaghetti with seafood which to start was just far too much, it was bland, spaghetti was not cooked well and had meal in general had a strange smell to it like the seafood...
Read moreCan't comment on the main restaurant as we have only used the snack bar at the side which is excellent. Mica who is an absolute Gem with a great sense of humour and her staff will give you a warm welcome and service with a smile. This is the kind of place you usually find at the end of your holiday and wish you'd found it sooner. We were lucky and found it day 3. The burgers and sirloin steak on toast were delicious and very reasonably priced. They have a varied Menu Baguettes Toasties, Delicious Hamburgers, Crepes and a lot more. You might have to wait a little while for your order when they are busy but the wait will be worth it. No hurry your on holiday. Whether you want to eat or just have a relaxing drink I would recommend you give Da Fano a try. You will find it across the road from the little train stop...
