Querida Nieta — Restaurant in Benalmádena

We absolutely love Querida Nieta. It is a gem tucked away in Benalmedena Pueblo. It's the kind of organic cafe/wine bar you'd more likely find in California only the wines and produce are quintessentially Spanish. I really want to love Empanades but I find them rather disappointing but when the assortment on offer at Querida Nieta was too tempting. Finally I found empanades bursting with imaginative flavours. My partner had quiche which was also tasty. The wine selection was also impressive and our waiter was friendly and knowledgeable. Small and nice little bar café restaurant, with some external tables too, a most pleasing experience with everything organic ( food, drink, etc) something difficult to come by in Spain. Pricing is very correct, service is very kind and food was deliciously prepared with some jazzy background gentle music. Although we just had a veg burger, it was very nice and the portion was plenty. Have been several times, prices have gone up of late and portion sizes have got smaller e.g 1 very egg scrambled with 2 pieces of dry toast no butter offered , toast with very thin spread cream cheese and small slice of salmon with no slice of lemon etc. I choose 2 specific pieces of guiche to take home, when I got home I found only 1 small piece of the guiche I hadn't ordered!
