We have dined there many times, and, as we have family visiting, we intended to have dinner there tomorrow evening. We had told them a lot about the restaurant, and how much we liked it there. As we were in the Pueblo today we decided to take the family there for a lunchtime drink, and some tapas. The waitress was beyond shocking. She was downright hostile towards us. She refused to allow us to sit at a table, but the manager intervened, and she was clearly furious with this. She literally threw the menus at us. My Spanish is not bad, and unfortunately for her I understood everything she was saying about us. It was not complimentary! Three of us decided to just have a drink, and not eat, as we're were shocked by the way we were being treated. My sister in law ordered three tapas, & a drink. This seemed to annoy her , and she snatched the menu from my sister in law's hand, and stormed away from us. Complaining loudly in Spanish, about "The British are not eating just here to drink " I understood everything. We got up and left. We will never return there again. I have visited El Muro many times, and brought family and friends there for dinner. Never again sadly. We are paying customers, and we deserve to be treated with courtesy, not contempt. I would point out, not everyone who speaks English is English. We are Irish, and some of us speak, and understand Spanish very well. Not a dining experience for the faint hearted....
Read moreReally not sure where to start. We stayed up in the Pueblo recently and used El Muro a few times. Twice for Breakfast, once for lunch and once for an evening meal which was for a special end of holiday treat.
The young waitress on Breakfast and lunch was really friendly and a great asset to the restaurant's team.
Our evening experience was the total opposite. They tried to place us outside on a dirty table despite booking nearly a week earlier. A table which we saw cats crawling all over in the morning and near the smoking area, we obviously refused and asked to be re-seated inside. They tried multiple times with other guests to sit them at that table, all refused.
Waiters were running round like headless chickens as there only seemed to be three waiters for the whole restaurant whilst the owner sat on his phone and looked on (clearly not putting in any effort to help the team) Food was good, but I think us being led to the dirty table outside had dampened our experience.
It is expensive for what it is. You may decide to go for the view but apart from this, you can get cheaper (and better) alternatives...
Read moreI have just walked out of El Muro Pueblo. Extremely disappointed by the way I was spoken to by a surly waiter. First of all he barked at us to wait to be seated. 10 minutes later no sign of being seated so moved towards patio. Again I was barked at "I told you to wait"!! He explained the kitchen was behind, by 30 minutes. That was not a problem to us. We simply wanted to select a table and have a few drinks before the kitchen became free, as is quite often the case. Our "normal" socialable waiter was attending other tables so unable to speak to him. The surly waiter insteaded again we could not sit at a table, but must wait, on this exceedingly hot day!!! We could only be seated on the patio bench in direct sun, despite a number of tables being free.
We walked out totally disgusted by this waiters rude behaviour. We are frequent customers whenever in Spain. And...
