Restaurante Arara Bistro Bar — Restaurant in Benalmádena

We have been twice and we really like it. Both times we ate early considering is Spain (between 7:30 and 8:00) and we were the first to arrive. It felt intimate and very relaxed.

The menu is not too extensive and we have almost tried all the dishes that are shareable in our two visits. However, we liked everything! We recommend the “Causa”, the ceviche and the salmon, they were super tasty! Desserts selection is small but we have tried them all and our favourite is the lemon tart by a mile.

Service is excellent, the waiters that attend us in the 2 different occasions were great. On our last visit we also got a complementary shot that was delicious.

We will definitely be coming back as this has become one of our favourite restaurant. The combo of great quality food freshly prepared, great service and quiet atmosphere is a win for us for a nice romantic dinner.

Una decepción total. Hace un tiempo estuvimos en el otro restaurante del chef Diego Gallegos, Sollo, y nos brindó una experiencia inolvidable. Hoy, con mucha curiosidad, pedimos el menú degustación en su bistró Arara (55 euros por persona), esperando encontrar algunos sabores característicos del chef. Nada de eso.

El menú estaba mal elaborado, sin ningún sabor que destacara, con materias primas de dudosa calidad y un postre ridículo que parecía sacado de un supermercado, ya que el del menú se había agotado… y eso que fuimos los primeros en entrar.

El servicio fue eficaz pero bastante seco, y el diseño del restaurante muy pobre: mesas y sillas que parecían de segunda mano, pero sin ninguna gracia, solo bastante gastadas.

Sinceramente, no me cuadra cómo un chef tan talentoso quiere ligar su nombre a algo tan mediocre como Arara. No esperaba la calidad ni la creatividad de Sollo, pero por 55 euros por persona puedo comer de maravilla en cualquier otro sitio de la costa. Me sentí realmente estafado.

Lo siento, Diego, para mí sigues siendo un referente en la cocina, pero por favor, deslígate de este proyecto o pon amor en las cosas. El menú tiene platos que, en su país de origen, están llenos de sabores hermosos a pesar de ser humildes, pero lo que comí hoy no tenía entusiasmo, ni...
