I'm a world traveller from Canada and living in Spain now - but I've never experienced bad nasty service like here in my life. I also worked 20 years in food and beverage banquets VIP events so perhaps I look at service with more scrutiny? Briefly the story is we had our 3rd visit to Benidorm our beloved city, we arrived on Feb 9th in pouring rain but still went for an evening walk... eventually walked in to Saltoki to finally eat something before returning to our hotel. We sat at the sofas area near the side panorama windows. The waitress came in time , I asked nachos but she said it's too big size perhaps for late evening...my boyfriend chose burger and then I've changed my mind to calamaries as I didn't want the huge nachos. The waitress got rude and told me " you make me angry decide what you want" ! I said excuse me you told me the nachos are huge so I rather order calamari. She left with a kind of angry face. Returned with our 2 drinks. Unfortunately I've knocked over the champagne glass I was too tired, bit wet clothes and as I reached for napkins the glass touched my sleeve and puff! It's not a big deal but I knew she'll probably be upset. And I was right! Instead of saying no problem I'll get you a new one, she came with an angry face and told me "you make me mad now " !! I apologized obviously, there was about half drink still left in the glass so I grabbed to drink it but she got even more angry! Said something rude again but I told her I'm not going to leave half the drink in the glass as she nearly grabbed it from my hand!!! It was surreal scene! We were speechless! Insulting a paying guest and customer WOW!!Eventually she brought another glass and the food, but after that never bothered to return for about 40 minutes or more. My boyfriend had to go up to the bar to ask the bill. He tried to stay calm as we didn't want to ruin our one week holiday. Sure the place is really amazing decorations and super panorama at the beach especially for sunset, but with this kind of service NO RETURN here! Never ever experienced rude, mean server like this. We're paying customers! Didn't get the food and drinks for free! This kind of mentality is toxic. Benidorm is awesome city and we've been in countless restaurants, bars with absolutely the highest welcome, unfortunately this incident was not what anyone would expect at this metropolitan city. I'm sure the other servers are nicer as we seen them with smiles and were sorry we didn't have a nice smiling person to serve us. We'll, thankfully there's hundreds of great places for our return to Benidorm! Need mention the food was excellent thumbs up...
Read moreUnfortunately, my experience at this restaurant was very disappointing. The croutons were so overcooked that they were almost impossible to eat and had a very unpleasant taste. The beet salad was very weak in flavor and overall unimpressive. The green tea was served with a slice of lemon already in the cup, and I had to add the tea separately, which meant it didn’t steep properly. The burger was terrible—greasy, burnt, and completely inedible. The spaghetti Bolognese was a disaster—the pasta tasted old and overcooked, and the sauce was overly greasy and sour.
The sauce had a noticeable separation, with water pooling on top, which is often a sign of improper preparation or long storage. It didn’t look fresh, and the consistency was off. Unfortunately, it affected the overall taste and experience.
I had high hopes for this place, but unfortunately, the food quality was far from acceptable. I wouldn’t...
Read moreI recently dined at Saltoki Experience in Benidorm and left with mixed feelings. The interior is undeniably eye-catching, adorned with cool statues that create a unique ambiance. The burger was properly made and satisfying, and the Caesar salad was passable.
However, not all dishes impressed. The extra-large portion of tacos was enjoyable but somewhat overwhelming, loaded with meat, cheese, and beans. On the downside, the squid and baby squids were subpar - the former not grilled long enough, and the latter quite tasteless.
On a positive note, the sangria cava was very good and a welcome addition to the meal. I would suggest Saltoki consider adding espresso tonic to their menu, as they already serve both espresso and tonic separately.
Overall, my experience was just okay. While there were some shining moments, the restaurant has room for improvement, particularly with its...
