Parc Municipal El Palmeral Elche — Attraction in Benidorm

The Dove Park (Parc d Elx) can be found near to the harbor area of Poniente beach in the Old Town. This a small shaded park with palm trees and plenty of places to sit to admire the views of the beach and Peacock Island. There is also a fountain covered in white doves and pigeons. It is possible to purchase seed and the birds are often seen feeding from the hands of children or perched on the arms of visitors. Despite the number of birds that visit each day, the park is very clean due to the daily cleaning regime of the council.

At night the fountain is illuminated with dancing lights and is surrounded by street entertainers, musicians and stalls selling jewellery, pottery, souvenirs, toys, bags and so on. Near to the Dove Park there is a promenade with lots of palm trees, bars, restaurants and hotels, an outside gym, a children's pirate ship, swings and a slide.

Other attractions of the Old Town include independent boutiques, gift and souvenir shops, Tapas Alley, The Marina (Maritime Cultural Centre, boat trips and water sports), Cala Del Mal Pas Beach, The L`Hort de Colon Museum (19th century house), Parque de L'Alguiera (traditional bullring and two amphitheaters) and the Balco del Mediterrani (viewing platform and Saint James church). Have some good events in the park and well looked after,over looks the Poniente beach and the port,it has a new wall with a large rail ehich is great to sit on and watch the ships go in and out, after having a complete make over it now looks stunning with new lighting new promenade and even has toilets aswell,with a children's play area and outside fitness centre,one area the town hall has really made nice fresh and modern,even has coloured lighting in the fountain,with plenty of Doves for the kids to feed 😀it now has more facilities for children to play on & more...

El Parque de Elche es un céntrico parque urbano. Está localizado en la zona centro de la ciudad, al final de la calle Colón, cerca del puerto de Benidorm y junto a la costa, en la playa de Poniente.

Es lugar de paso obligado del paseo de esta playa de Benidorm. Su interior está repleto de palmeras y posee una explanada y una fuente.

Recientemente el Ayuntamiento de Benidorm ha puesto en funcionamiento una nueva tirolina infantil en el Parque de Elche, un elemento de juego muy demandado por los niños y padres que frecuentan el recinto. Una nueva tirolina que se complementará con la ampliación de nuevos elementos biosaludables para las personas mayores en el propio parque.

La tirolina está realizada en madera y tiene una longitud de 20 metros con vallado perimetral y un certificado del fabricante de cumplimiento de la normativa UNE EN 1176-16630 sobre durabilidad, inflamabilidad, toxicidad y posibilidad de reciclaje al final de su vida útil.

La tirolina viene a completar otros elementos de juego ya instalados en el parque infantil. El concejal de Espacio Público, José Ramón González de Zárate, ha indicado que la colocación de este nuevo elemento “obedece a la demanda de los padres como un elemento estrella en los parques infantiles, que tiene mucho éxito entre los pequeños usuarios”.

Además, se ha procedido a ampliar el número de elementos biosaludables, en concreto bicicletas, de uso del colectivo de personas más mayores en el propio parque ya que se había detectado una gran demanda de estos aparatos.
