Ca Rafel is een typisch Spaans restaurant in Benimantell, direct aan de CV-70 gelegen. Voor Spaanse begrippen liggen ze wat hoger qua prijsklasse, maar dat wordt meer dan gerechtvaardigd door de gerechten die er worden geserveerd. Een mooie combinatie die vaak wordt aanbevolen zijn een drietal bijzondere tapas vooraf, gevolgd door een vlees- of visgerecht als hoofdmaaltijd. Maar de kaart biedt genoeg mogelijkheden voor elke smaak. Bijzonder is de Olla de Blat; een eenpansgerecht dat met name in het najaar en de winter wordt geserveerd. Qua idee past het een beetje bij onze erwtensoep of de Eintopf in Duitsland en Oostenrijk. Een dikke soep gevuld met spek, worst, bonen of linzen, dus een echte wintermaaltijd voor in de bergen. Wij maakten ooit de fout om dit in augustus bij 35 C te bestellen. Ik kan je verzekeren; geen pretje. Overigens is er in Benimantell een feestweek in November waar de Olla centraal staat. Leuk om een keer mee te maken, maar dan wel vooraf reserveren bij Ca Rafel! En helaas voor de zonliefhebbers; er staan wel twee tafeltjes buiten direct aan de doorgaande weg, maar normaalgesproken eet je hier binnen. Toch maar...
