Cafetería Avenida — Restaurant in Bilbao

Poor treatment of foreigners, which at the time were customers: by the owner. Explanation: Two colleagues were eating some tortillas and some coffees purchased in this cafeteria on a saturday morning around 11 am. We are all students and only have 30-20 min tops, since leaving the classroom to have a quick break.

And to take advantage of the few minutes of the break that remained, two other girls colleagues entered this place with other coffees(to go) and we all sat together while they ate their food and drink, to then leave to our classroom.

At the time it was almost complely empty and we were not crowding or bothering anyone, just using the same table of 4, with our colleagues who had ordered various things from this place.

The aggressive attitude of the owner left us perplexed, we have not even been there for 5 minutes, she approach our table telling us to leave the place in a very bad manner. Even though one other time we all consumed there.

I do not recommend this place, a very sad experience in all this time we have been in the country, we had never received such treatment. I’ve seen spanish people mixing glasses in bars everywhere around and nobody treating anyone this way.

To clarify the situation, one of the two “customers of the cafeteria”, went to talk to the owner explaining being foreigners we did not understand this as such an offense. Especially if we were still consuming their food and drinks.

We felt badly treated and it was directed in a negative manner, maybe because we are not from the area. We have traveled around the world, and for 10 minutes accompanying people who are consuming something there, has never been a problem anywhere except here.

It is a pity that we have been treated like this. It would have been enough to communicate politely that it should not be done, or to explain it in another manner and problem solved, but not to turn it into an episode of this category and...

Todo muy bien, pero dos sugerencias por mi parte... Tú café vale 1,75, los cercanos todos a 1,70... A veces, ganar menos es ganar más clientes, y que se hagan asiduos. Por otro lado, al lado tenemos al Kurrusko, y seguido al girar la esquina otro bar de toda la vida. En ese otro bar, no tienen ningún cartel ni aviso de "Prohibido consumir cosas ajenas a este establecimiento"... ¿sabes quién lo frecuenta? Muchísimas personas, cada una de un padre y una madre, estudiantes, profesores, desempleados que acuden a formaciones de lanbide... Y a veces, de cada grupito, hay un par de personas que llevan "bocadillo propio", sí, de fuera... Y sabes qué? Nadie dice nada, y ese bar de toda la vida está "petado siempre", porque hay 2 que sólo cogen el café, tal vez porque no pueden gastar más, pero el resto consume café y muchos pincho... A veces, la solidaridad está en estas pequeñas cosas, ser permisivo o hacer la vista gorda, porque estas personas no consumen más no porque no quieran, sino a menudo porque no pueden... Y si en tu local hay un cartel prohibiendo esa licencia, el resto, sus compañeros, por solidaridad, sé tomaran el pincho y el café donde sus compis sean bienvenidos... Ser solidario sólo nos trae cosas buenas, a todos, y a largo plazo... Así que, por mí, por mis compañeros, y por mi yo futuro, pues tal vez llegue un día en que yo también me tenga que apretar el cinturón... Por todos, quita porfa ese avisito del frigo, y así ganarás clientes, e incluso amigos para toda la vida...

Cada cual es libre de llevar su negocio como quiera, pero si te da un consejo un cliente, tómalo en valor, lo hace porque te aprecia.
