Celler Sa Vinya — Restaurant in Binissalem

If you’re a foreigner they’ll seat everyone else first because they think you don’t understand Catalan, so when others come in also without a reservation they think you haven’t understood. We waited 45 minutes with a 6 year old and they sat everyone else first who came in after us. They didn’t have reservations, either. Then the waitress said she would write my name down, but they’d already taken my name when we came in.

I live here, in Binissalem, and I’m tired of being treated like they’d rather I didn’t. I integrate in society, I am learning Catalan, but when I show up without a native with me I get this kind of treatment....

Hola, reserve para el dia del padre para ir con mi familia ya que habia ido otras veces y nos habia gustado mucho, y fue una decepcion. Cuando llegamos nos atiende una chica como camarera, pedimos algo para picar y un vino rosado, nos trae el vino y no lo abre, estamos casi terminando la picada y tenemos que decir a otro camarero si nos la puede abrir, el vino estaba caliente y tuvimos que pedir hielo. Nos trae la comida y mi marido y yo pedimos cochinillo que habiamos comido otras vecees y nos habia gustado mucho, a mi me traen de la parte de la costilla, que a vista se veia muy bien, pero era solo huesos y piel, encima no sé como lo habian calentado pero la piel no se podia comer, parecía chicle. Se lo digo a la chica que nos atendia y me dice : me quejaré a cocina, pero ahi quedó la cosa. Mi marido tuvo que compartir el suyo conmigo. Por último pedimos los cafés y la cuenta y la chica hablando con unas y otras y no la traia, a los veinte minutos la tenemos que pedir a otra camarera si por favor nos traia la cuenta que parecia que no querian cobrar, la traen esperamos quince minutos mas y tenemos que levantarnos nosotros a la barra con el dinero porque las dos camareras que nos han atendido estan alli apoyadas en la barra, hablando y riendo. Era un dia que no merecia pagar, servicio pésimo y comida mayormente...

One of the most authentic Mallorcan restaurant I've been at. The staff was really kind and helpful, we got recommended all our dishes and we couldn't be happier about that. There's a big variety of dishes that you can choose from. It was crowded so think of booking before getting there. Still it's worth the wait if you have some spare time and no reservation. I definitely recommend this place. I will repeat next time we go...
