Sa Classic Pizza — Restaurant in Blanes

During our recent visit to Blanes, my dear wife and I dined at SA Classic Pizza, a casual spot offering Catalan specialties alongside more international fare. While the setting was pleasant enough, the culinary experience left us with mixed impressions.

As a connoisseur with a particular interest in regional dishes, I was intrigued by the Catalan Coques de Recapte, and opted for the Olivada variety. It was, to be fair, rather pleasant. The toppings were thoughtfully chosen, and I especially enjoyed the goat cheese, which added a rich and satisfying dimension to the dish. It wasn’t exceptional, but it was certainly agreeable.

I also tried their Classic Bravas, which came dressed in a Bolognese-style sauce. This struck me as quite an odd choice. The traditional bravas sauce, spicy and piquant, has a distinct identity, one that, in my view, was thoroughly lost in this reinterpretation. It felt like a mismatch, and I could not say I enjoyed it. The original version, without question, is far superior.

My wife, for her part, ordered the Bolognese spaghetti, which, unfortunately, turned out to be a disappointment. The pasta was overcooked, soft to the point of losing its texture, and the sauce lacked depth or character. She did not enjoy it at all.

All in all, SA Classic Pizza offered a few interesting ideas, but the execution was uneven. While the Coques showed some promise, the bravas and pasta fell short of expectations. A rather middling experience, I’m...

First step, the welcome, they receive us with a bottle of cold water, free of charge, a detail not commonly used in Catalonia.

Germán, the waiter, was very friendly and showed interest to serve us and make the experience very good. He explained all the menu and recommended us with some dishes.

Second step, the food, I eat “Cabra Loca” pizza with goat cheese and a beer. Delicious!!!!

Third step, the bill, absolutely good, we paid for a pizza, a beer, a Coca Cola and a pasta dish, less than €30!! Excellent.

Fourth step, something to improve, beer!!! You guys need to have draft beer on your menu and if it is craft, even better. You need to sell beer in a growler and, of course, have the bottled option.

El día Viernes intentamos ir a cenar pero estaba todo lleno. Así que hoy Domingo hicimos la reserva con tiempo porque se suele llenar y sus clientes reservan con anticipación. Ingresamos y ni bien uno entra podes ver el horno a leña funcionando a la vista con todo su personal trabajando. Poder ver cómo hacen la comida en el momento es un punto a favor muy grande. Fuimos con mi marido y mis dos nenas. Una de ellas tiene 6 meses entonces subimos por el ascensor . ( Excelente detalle ya que el lugar tiene 3 plantas ). Nos sentamos en una mesa en la planta 1 y el ambiente era muy bueno. La gente se veía feliz porque estaba comiendo muy bien. Nos atendió una chica que ni bien nos sentamos nos trajo una botella de agua de cortesía y nos trajo amablemente las cartas. Pedimos de entrada Patatas bravas al horno con alioli y salsa boloñesa ( realmente exquisita y abundante). Luego pedimos 2 pizzas , una de prosciuto y la otra de Cuatro quesos. El sabor exquisito de ambas pizzas y hasta nos sobró. Nos preguntaron si deseábamos llevarnos las porciones que nos habían sobrado y eso hicimos. Nos fuimos con una linda cajita con el logo del lugar ( todo muy Perfecto y profesional). Estábamos súper llenos pero en la carta de postres vimos que los helados los fabricaban artesanalmente desde el año 1990 así que tuvimos que probar un volcán de chocolate con una bocha de helado que se los recomiendo porque estaba Perfecto. La atención impecable, la comida de excelente calidad y sabor. Todo bien cocido y la salsa excelente. La instalación es hermosa y los baños espaciosos con cambiador de bebé !!! Un lugar para recomendar y para volver a ir. Si todavía no fuiste te lo recomiendo porque es un excelente lugar. El hecho de que esté siempre lleno es que están haciendo las cosas como corresponden. Personalmente les deseo muchos éxitos porque se nota qué hay mucho esfuerzo y trabajo atrás de todo lo que hoy vi.
