El Tipico — Restaurant in Breña Baja

The women's washroom is run-down, with a broken seat and no way to flush unless you reach your hand inside the tank and pull. The food is bad enough to make you feel sick immediately afterwards. My plate arrived with incomplete ingredients, which the waitress did not bother to understand me and I gave up trying to communicate. The menus are trilingual in English, German and Spanish, but don't bother assuming that they are tourist friendly. For the quality and quantity, this place is over-priced. Don't go here unless everything else...

Gotta say that I have somewhat a Stockholm syndrome kind of type relationship with this place. Food can be either less than average to just spot hitters.

I vividly remember two occasions in which one, I had the absolute most terryfing experience regarding a burger and one in that just filled my soul and tummy to the point of still enjoying the flavor while walking back home.

So a three stars.

You could easily pass by this restaurant, however, everything here is an understated and unexpected gem. The freshness of the food, simply and beautifully cooked and presented, freshness is the key. Excellent service and fantastic value for money. In a busy resort this is where the locals come to unwind during their breaks. You would be wise to follow them in and enjoy the experience.
