Exceeded expectations on all our criteria: food, service, and ambiance. We two had dinner; it has been the best meal during our three weeks in the Iberian Peninsula.
SERVICE: 5.0. She was professional, considerate, and knowledgeable about the foods and wines. And she shared a beautiful smile.
AMBIANCE: 5.0. Set in an upgraded small cloister-type courtyard with a pleasant fountain. Open to the sky, yet has a roof that can be extended to completely cover the courtyard in case of rain. Next to the fountain stands a ~750 year-old Roman pillar with an inscription dedicating it to a Roman emperor: this pillar is the source of the name "PATIO ROMANO" because it was discovered buried below the restaurant.
FOOD: 4.5. Everything was very fresh and prepared with care. 4.5: (Seasonal menu): salad with tomatoes, cucumbers, bell peppers, and onions. Everything was at the peak of ripeness. 4.5: House-style garlic prawns. Exquisite texture and taste. 4.5: Ratatouille with eggs. 5.0: (Seasonal menu) Iberian pork with potatoes. The perfect amount of salt with the pork. I don't often comment on potatoes, but these were cooked perfectly. 4.5: House-made Cheesecake.
WINE: 5.0. We each had a wine by the glass. Her rosé and my red were excellent, matching our tastes. Good selection of bottle and...
Read moreFirst meal upon arriving in Córdoba. As a coeliac, I really wanted to try the famed fried eggplant and honey. Decided to eat here because I saw a gluten free version on their allergen safe menu. Am I glad I did! The whole waitstaff, Wendy, Julia, and Alba took such attentive care of me and my allergy even though the restaurant was very busy. They were most kind with my very broken English and made sure everything I ordered was safe for me to eat. There is even GF bread!! I forgot what having bread with dinner is like! I ordered the eggplant fries and the stewed oxtail. The fries were hot, crispy on the outside and perfectly tender on the inside. The oxtail practically fell off the bone, it was so tender. Everything I ate- from the olive starter to my last bite- was so flavorsome, cooked and seasoned to perfection. What the staff didn’t know was that my Ancestors left 532 years ago. This meal feed not only my body, but also my soul. It felt like a wonderful welcome home. ¡Mil gracias y un abrazo! I will definitely be...
Read moreWe took a day trip to Córdoba from Sevilla and didn’t make any restaurant reservations in advance, so all the popular spots were completely booked. Luckily, we stumbled upon this restaurant while looking for somewhere to eat.
First off — the sangria was delicious! We ordered the zucchini as a starter, and it was fantastic. For the main course, I had the pork with gnocchi, and my friend ordered the rigatoni bolognese. The pork was pretty good, and I really enjoyed the cheesy gnocchi. My friend said the rigatoni was tasty as well, though a little on the salty side for her.
We finished off our meal with the tiramisu. It was a bit thicker than what we’re used to back in the States, but still very good. The restaurant’s interior was super cute — I wish I had taken some photos!
The service was excellent, and our waitress was so kind and attentive. Overall, a 10/10 experience 🌟 My only regret is not ordering ten more of those sangrias before...
