the bartender at the east point restaurant (coincidentally as such, also ran by seemingly a group of friends with an artistic side) tipped me about this place and the jam sessions on tuesdays and other days. Considering joining a jam session with strangers being on my bucket list, I had to check it out. So I took my saxophone and went.
The place seems like it's ran by a group of friends that over half the cliantele is a part of. Really tight knit. An experience for sure it was, to observe, what I feel is a rarity amongst it's kind; an EXITING game of football. Beer was... beer. I had some tapas of the day for starters, not the vest, not the worst, but provided with a generous amount of nice bread. For a meal, some seafood paella, which I rather enjoyed despite it being somewhat on the salty side(I don't know honestly, is it supposed to be that way and I'm just a tourist, or it was just that; too salty?). Nevertheless waiter was all cool about it and said, the chef will be told about it. Shortly after he went to take the stage with some folks and a word of warning: For the small space they play LOUD! Bring earplugs if you value your hearing. Also considering the tight knit group, I propably should have been less shy and more straightforward before, if I wanted to join in, but that's on me. Were in Spain after all, don't be shy, you'll get forgotten, that's just the way it is. Swim or sink. I listened for a while, had a fallout with an ex over the phone, left fuming, came back embarrassed, after forgetting to pay the bill, left again fuming, but embarassed. Overall nice experience! Excellent place to get immersed in local atmosphere. The waiter talked excellent english by the way!
-if you want to jam, try to talk about it well before showtime, since the house band seems tight knit and once the show is on, it's on! -bring earplugs, if you have sensitive ears -don't be shy like me -don't bring a phone like me -have...
Read moreWe didn’t have any reservations ahead of our trip to Cadaqués so we ended up in this restaurant out of lack of choice. The service was extremely slow - it took twenty minutes to get a menu (they have one menu for the entire restaurant), it could have been a smart idea to take a photo of it as we were seated. Although understaffed (they had two waiters) the service was friendly in all the mayhem. The food was mediocre - the patatas bravos and calamares a la andaluza all lacking any real flavour and saturated in dirty oil. The oven baked sea bass was delicious and the fish was fresh but the potatoes cooked with it were undercooked and inedible. Not really a...
Read moreI love this place! It’s such a cute restaurant. The food Jimmy recommended us is soooo good, I forgot the name, but it’s below the paella on the menu, it’s like a seafood soup, it’s soooo tasty, we finished all the things in the plate. Also paella is good. We also ordered Patatas bravas and tortilla, which are the average level, i would like to recommend u try sth else. Ask Jimmy for help, he is so kind! Also the atmosphere is nice, the terrace is decorated as a small garden, but inside is a bit dark. The price is affordable, the food is good, the...
